How to talk in ow2 without getting suspended (for dummies)

  1. Don’t be rude.
  2. Don’t assume that people know what jokes are. (they don’t)
  3. Don’t be obnoxious.
  4. Don’t demand things.
  5. If all of the above fails take the ban like a man and go to your alt lol.

Even talking these days gets people to vote for you. Saying anything can potentially. And if you do it enough, you’re silenced. If you ask people to swap, you can get reported. If you question them overextending you can get reported. Unless you’re completely silent or a beacon of rainbow unicorn positivity, you can get reported. And even then, you can still get reported.

Your post is pretty obvious, but to me there’s this much bigger problem here: if you say anything or do anything that ticks people off, they may report you. And since real humans don’t review these reports and its just an abundance system, all it takes is saying or doing 1 thing that a 2/3/4/5 stack thinks is worthy of reporting you and you’re silenced.

Don’t get me wrong; there’s some bad people out there, there’s some behavior that definitely deserves a report. But the system definitely needs a rework. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m seeing a lot more “thanks for reporting; we can’t discuss, but we’ve taken action” screens when I log on. This tells me we as a community are reporting in droves OR the OW team loosened the requirement to enforce a penalty.

Putting the power in our hands to report someone was a great idea. Putting the power to enforce ridiculous punishments like a random 19 day silence without any prior issues into the hands of an AI that counts reports is not a good idea. It fosters a community that’s either 1) more frustrated and toxic or 2) refuses to communicate and speak, joke, or have fun at all at the caution of getting reported for no reason.

Or you can just play with the spelling of the words that would normally get flagged in a report and avoid the autobot-banner altogether. Not speaking from anecdotal experience or anything. Totally just a guess.

we are getting ridiculed and abused by the clowns. all they care about is taking the game down with them like its there own life that depends on it. crazy no one acts out like this in real public without a thought. clowns usually dont fantasize or dream
