- Just be normal, please. (Might be impossible for high ranks)
Congratz you won’t get chat restricted/banned anymore.
Congratz you won’t get chat restricted/banned anymore.
Basically, just act how you would in person. Stop using the internet as a shield to be a wangrod.
You could disable all forms off communication and play heroes like Widow, Ball, Doomfist, tracer and if you play daily on a consistent basis you will eventually get banned for “inappropriate communication”
This system should not exist, if I do not like what u have to say I would just mute you, and worst is most people who report people for BS reasons would forget to do so if you could only report at the end.
Just like most people forget to endorse even though you have to endorse others for your own endorsement level.
Sadly this basic level of competence is lost on the OW community.
They will continue to be toxic, use profanity etc etc, then come here and claim they ‘did nothing wrong’.
Turns of profanity filter
WHY DO PEOPLE USE PROFANITY!!!
People like you and who made this thread are the reason nearly every match is like a funeral where no one talks and everyone is crying on the inside.
Like profanity and toxicity is based on a personal level, this is a competitive game.
But worse is people do get banned for “toxicity” simply because they play heroes their team or enemy team does not like and this most toxic playerbase which pretend they are not toxic uses the report system to get to players who wronged them for playing heroes they do not like, or a good enemy widow making your game impossible etc etc.
Even if you manage to get a genuine toxic person (which I can count on one hand) banned then they go and make a new account and they are back in the loop, only now they are smurfing their way to their original Elo and they will be able to speak in your games again as everyone is to spiteful to just mute.
And I bet most people would forget to report for “toxicity” if you only could report after the game as most people are not really offended or insulted to begin with.
What classifies as normal?
Just treat them like you would a person in a LAN party or an arcade.
People are there to have fun, if you wanna throws hands get into boxing.
Minus all the swearing of course
Normal isn’t the best word to use in this topic, OP. Affable is the word of choice in this imo.
Affable (new quirky word) attitude with the expected silliness of an online comp game.
You can easily communicate in game without using profanity. It’s not hard. Like, you make it sound like someone is trying to pull your teeth, that it’s ‘painful’ for you to not be able to swear in game. Just, be a mature adult and follow the rules you agreed to. It’s extremely easy to do.
You can get banned for 'inappropriate communication" with chat having off.
When I ask people to give me examples of toxicity to justify this BS system they either go silent or they give examples so rare I only seen once or twice.
This system is punishing the entire community, no one is talking because this.
I bet if you requested your data you would find profanity, this community is just addicted to seeing that " THANK YOU FOR REPORTING " and worse is its being used more to punish other players who played the wrong heroes, or dominated a match as people figured ages ago that the abusive chat report function is being abused and so they press it when ever something does not go their way.
Like people who report for profanity while having the profanity filter off should be insta banned.
So people say, but people will say just about anything if it makes them look innocent. The ‘I’ve done nothing wrong’ crowd, 90% of the time, did something wrong.
And for the record, the profanity filter? It’s a layer of protection. Because Blizzard knows people like you, who can’t help but break the rules you agreed to follow, exist. Its existence has never given you the right to use profanity in game.
Give me examples of toxicity.
The system is 100% automated and more people get banned for playing the wrong heroes then actual toxic cases.
And worse is you achieve literally nothing by banning a genuine toxic person as they just go to the account creation screen and they are back in your games.
People use the option to punish other players for everything but genuine toxicity.
What rules? You break the rules the moment you get reported, if I report you now you technically broke the ToS, the rule says " What COULD be deemed offensive or disruptive" and with this community that bar is underground…
You protect a shltty BS system because you power trip on it and Blizzard endorses it because it saves them money as the system is automated.
But thank you, toxic people like you who are addicted to reporting made the environment so toxic ingame that people rarely talk.
Well for starters, using any form of profanity is against the rules.
But on top of that, going aggro at your team because they’re not performing to your standards, using ‘ez’ at the end of a match, insulting anyone on either your team or the enemy team. Those are examples of toxicity that Blizzard doesn’t tolerate.
Sure, but they lose everything associated with that account. Any cosmetics they earned from say the battle passes or competitive (such as golden or jade weapons), those are gone. If they’re a veteran player from OW1 with a large library of cosmetic unlocks, they will have to unlock them all again if Blizzard nukes their account, at cost, since now they can’t rely on free loot boxes to get showered in cosmetics.
The code of conduct, you should read it sometime, especially since you agreed to follow it when you made your account.
Congrats on proving yourself to be the exact type of player that Blizzard wrote that code of conduct for.
Try playing in Arab servers.
Lemme know how normal of an experience that comes out to be.
you literally can get restricted and banned…ffs players can report for anything any time they want… it is a system issue
It really isn’t that simple anymore. You’d have to literally say nothing if you want to reduce your chances of getting banned, and even then you can still be reported based on your performance.
When a system is fully automated, there is always a chance you can get banned for whatever reason. And it doesn’t help that Blizzard customer support is more useless than than putting an indicator on a BMW.
I dunno about this. I’m pretty sure the “griefing” reports are thrown in the garbage, and the only thing that matters now is “abusive chat” reports.
I’m a serial ban receiver (I have many accounts, and have gotten perma-ed on like 3 of them). Since I have unplugged my mic and unbound the key to open text chat I have not been banned again. Most of the “report VirginLoser” is just people taking out their rage that we lost on the tank, or me as Junkrat and refusing to swap, but I have actually griefed people for example I’ve gone LW and spent the entire match grief gripping a toxic tank. I just do it in silence.
Anyway, many of my games are filled with people saying “Report VirginLoser for throwing” and literally nothing has happened. I used to have to cycle between accounts as they got banned but I’m just chilling since I unbound my chat options. So yeah pretty sure griefing reports go in the garbage, if you want to get someone banned report one of their text chat messages for abusive chat. If you don’t chat you probably can’t get banned.
Is it? I am sure the rule says “You may not use language that !!! could !!! be offensive or vulgar to others.”
Everything I do not like is bannable if I report you for it, you going to the extreme or you just saying Can we swap Rein has the same weight if reported because its automated and it does not matter what u said, the crime u committed was being reported.
Real toxic people do not care, they put 0 value on their accounts.
100% if I got hold of your chatlogs I will find profanity
100% I will find u being passive aggressive
100% I will find u asking others to report player X
No one is talking in this game because Blizzard catered to people like you who just power trip reporting left and right.
