Would like suggestions that I can recommend for both myself and my team. I often play with the same people frequently. I main Mercy/Moira depending on the map.
We’re a bronze/silver group. We have a frequent reoccurring issue where we have an enemy tracer or reaper who will flank to the backlines and kill me over and over again and our second healer or heavily damage them. And it happens so fast even if I have my pistol out or my damage orbs ready I get head shot and die. I try to ask my team for help or ask a dps to fall back and peel a little till we get to the point but my plight seems to be falling on deaf ears. My team jumps on the point with a secondary healer and dies. I’ll ask why they didn’t help later and they say “oh that’s just a Mercy/healer problem. You’re the priority Target.”
Is it that I’m just not a good enough player? Or do I need to change who I play with? Since it’s a reoccurring problem I mentioned it but they don’t seem to feel like this is a problem we should focus on.
Oh also I keep getting comments from my team saying stuff like “we only lost because these people practice this game obsessively.” But we were playing against bronze players!!! That can’t be it. I know Smurfs are a thing but I don’t think they’re that common. We’re a great team otherwise. But when we’re playing against Tracers and reapers occasionally Winston’s that assault the backlines we always lose 100% of the time!

Fade, Guardian Angel, if you are Mercy you shouldn’t die too often to flankers. If you have an immobile comp then Moira is better, and Moira has her fade, + Moira can use her orbs to fight the flanker.
A lot of this could probably be solved by actively being aware of where enemy flankers are. You have to keep them in the back of your mind at all times. While your teammates SHOULD peel for you, you are not entitled to being protected and should always take your life into your own hands
If you are in silver there is clearly room for personal improvement, but your team is also bad and you should find a new team.
If you want to keep playing with them.
Don’t wait until later to call it out.
Call it out when it happens.
Call it out before it happens. Watch for the flank and call it out as soon as you see them going for the flank. If you give your team prior notice that the flank is coming and they still don’t peel, find a new team
There are definitely ways to mitigate it as your current heroes, and at silver those will most definitely work against all flankers at your level. But if they are being too much of an issue, briggite is a hard counter. Wait in the backline with her and if anyone tries to jump in or your team enters a brawl give armor to the one being targeted/on the front line, stun the opponent beng the issue and start hitting them so everyone in your back line including you gets healed too much to die.
simple, brigit, she counters tracer and reaper, so just switch to her when they have reaper/ tracer PLUS you will help your tanks EMINENTLY with countering reaper.
Thanks. Yeah I decided to stick a little closer to the middle of my team and it helped a lot. But I also bought a lot of problems up to my team and they seem to be aware that it’s a team effort as well. But seeing as you have a reaper icon I’m keeping your suggestion close to heart. Haha
Mercy and Moira both has the tools to escape from reaper, IF reaper dont get chance to shoot first. Try to position ur self in place where u cant Be dived too easily. Keep track about your surroundings and always plan ur “escape route” before ur flanked. Depending ur rank you can however take 1vs1 against reaper with Moira and Even win that (If reaper knows how to engage there is no chance however.
Most “dive reapers” start shooting usually too early so they cant oneshot you, use this as ur advantage . When you hear his teleport, footsteps or shotguns use Guardian Angel to get high ground.
Its sad that ur team won’t listen to ur callouts tho. Reaper is pretty up hero atm but once you let him close in your backline that underpowered hero becomes pretty terrifying. Afterall We are talking about hero that deals 560 damage/second in best circumtanses.
In short dont try to duel reaper, once you Even smell his presence Guardian angel to ur reaper counter and hug him
Edit: also that swedish shieldmaiden healer ^^ counters reaper pretty hard, you can play with her too.
