I’d be down to try these, but on paper this sounds like it might be too many buffs for only a slightly spread nerf and ultimate charge cost nerf. IMO the extra damage on shurikens negates some of the increase in 25% more ult charge (more damage = more ult charge), so that is something to keep in mind.
With today’s state of the game, with so much heals, i’d leave it to 30dmg, while making deflect last 1s and shuriken travel speed on 60m/s.
Like it
Please papa Jeff fix deflect asfeghplrkoaiha
Instead of this, I’d just increase the angle of attach to a wall to 40º and make him not be able to turn around for more than that when wallriding, so you can only cancel when you stop pressing jump button.
Anyways good changes
Nah. Genji doesn’t need that many buffs. At most, a dmg buff. Too many buffs at once break characters
I think the goal for these is an overall power shift, not necessarily a net-buff.
Most are buffs, and that many buffs at once are terrible and always break something in game
I agree, that’s why I said the goal is to get there. Offering counter-suggestions would be good to share your idea of what an overall balanced power-shift would be.
How would u feel if dragon blade was more akin to tracer ult so his mid fight capabilities and base kit was much stronger
Say get rid of the long winded animations and duration of the blade and just make it a single powerful wide sweeping blade arc that did like 300 damage and decrease the ult cost by alot and maybe make it so that for each kill u get with it refreshes ur ult charge with 10%
That’s why I said they’re too much. Up the damage, increase ult charge. Start there, if he needs more or less then they can adjust him accordingly
This idea was primarily just a collective ideas to take into account, but not to do all at once like they did in June/July. In all honesty if they did it one at a time and take it step by step, then I’m genuinely fine with that. it helps you monitor the status of a hero better as you change more and more. same goes with any hero.
I wouldnt touch Cyber-Agility or deflect atm.
Genji doesnt need a spread nerf even with these buffs, all he needs is the Shuriken buff and the blade nerf.
Even when he was buffed, his mid-fight kit was still pathetically weak and the only real advantage he has was having his blade up every fight.
I say
-Damage increased from 28 - 30
-Primary fire recovery rate decreased from 0.95 to 0.9
-Secondary fire recovery rate decreased from 0.75 to 0.65
-Ultimate generation cost increased by 25%
-Dragonblade duration reduced to 5 seconds (was 6)
Even if this sounds insane, its nowhere near the level of damage any other DPS can put out.
The real reasons Genji was good for that time is because
A- how fast he could get blade
B- Brigitte armor basically made him invincible and he would always be getting packed, just watch the Paris Eternal and Shock summer showdown game, Rascal and SP9RK1E were pretty even Genji’s when it comes to skill, but Rascal wasnt getting the same resouces
Until she becomes meta. Mark my words…
Genji is one of the F tier heroes in this meta rn, the only reason people are scared to buff him now is because of that 3 week Genji meta.
That problem was mostly with how fast he could get blade, he still couldnt secure kills on his own.
Brig armor is also a factor, as you would have a 300+ health Dragonbalde within the first fight. and a 250+ hp Genji constantly building charge and not having to worry about being punished.
This would make him useless? 25 damage is less then a melee lol, and would hinder his ult charge
Blade was never the issue when it came to nano-blade. Nano boost provides a 50% increase to damage and damage resistance. If you want to fix the issue with Nanoblade? firstly, Nerfing blade itself will never fix the issue with Nano boost itself. Even an idiot like me who has only 1 hour on Genji, And can’t kill a person with bare blade? I can still get 3-4 kills if the Ana on my team presses “q” when I ult. Blade itself is not the issue; it’s Nano boost itself. A good way to fix it would be decrease it from 50% to about 30% for every nano; not just Genji.
I’m not a Genji main myself, Either. I play mostly Reaper.
Another problem not related to meta is that some of his buffs made him easy asf
Genji isn’t F tier, it’s just not a favorable meta. Genji is nowhere near as bad as some other heroes. Genji is actually pretty ok, and that’s ok. He doesn’t need that many buffs
I’m gonna clearly point this out for future reference and maybe make another thread on this:
OUR INTENTION ON MAKING GENJI BETTER IS TO NOT MAKE HIM OP BUT TO MAKE HIM AVERAGE. HES NOT GOOD DUE TO THE FACT HE RELIES SO HEAVILY ON NANO TO WORK FOR 6s OF THE FIGHT. HE REQUIRES SO MUCH BABYSITTING AND RESOURCES JUST TO WORK THAT YOUD BE BETTER OFF PLAYING OTHER HEROES OTHER THAN GENJI WITH HIS LAUGHABLE DPS. WE’RE NOT MAKING HIM OP AND META AGAIN, WE WANT HIM AVERAGE.
“Oh, so you want to make genji op?”
Yea but did we forget about genji buffs?
Yea cause they gave him 4 major buffs with no compensation nerfs.
