When there aren’t enough players in my region the game throws me onto Los Angeles (lax1), a farther away server than usual where the lag there is absolutely ATROCIOUS for me. The hit registration is terrible and I get lots of noregs, and enemy character movement is ridiculous to attempt to track/follow, I sometimes literally have to aim at where enemies AREN’T in order to register a hit.
I never want to be put on lax1 again as the experience is terrible, I’d rather wait hours for closer matches than be queued onto a server with unplayable matches. Is there a way to do this?
What you want to do is load up a terminal and see what are the IP addresses of servers you’re playing on. Then take those IPs and do a WHOIS lookup to determine the CIDRs and block those via a firewall. Rinse and repeat until the game is forced to connect you to a region you prefer.
You will want to wait until after you have logged into the game before turning the blocklist on, otherwise you may break authentication.
