I guess we’ll have to wait and see what the next balance patch is like on live, but I think if they ever did a nerf to healing to up TTK, the entire game would need rebalancing or changes … and we still haven’t gotten the needed balance changes for 222
We do not. Per
Moira
Brig
Orisa
Baptiste
Etc.
They can be deleted…and delete. Because Ana and mercy can’t combo pocket through that sustained dmg. Cree is a lot more lethal when Moira can’t erase half his dmg in a literal one second
Because destiny and Rainbow 6 siege is NOTHING like Overwatch and Overwatch SHOULD BE NOTHING LIKE THEM. They are different games. Totally different games.
It’s tragic.
They need to actually do something because imo, that’s where discontent comes in.
Teasing of a thing that could be, instead of just removing it .
I find this really interesting! For example I’ve had friends say the exact opposite, where they say they don’t want to play Overwatch because it’s too fast overall and aiming is way more difficult in this game than others
and whats wrong with dying quickly?
speaking from statistics in this game the TTK has always been rather high. Not as high as say COD on hardcore mode, but still high for most targets.
in dive the ttk was almost instant with people jumping on you, in double sniper the TTK was prettymuch instant. In Beyblade meta the TTK was pretty much instant, in triple tank the TTK was high, in slambulance it was high. Only in GOATS and the current double barrier have TTKs been low, because of tank and healer power creep. Mind you DPS had to be forced back into the game because of that power creep.
so why is a high TTK bad? The game has objectively been worse with lower TTKs with complaints about the meta being higher than any other in goats and double barrer.
its really not. its just bringing dps back to relevancy. You may be used to 2 years of the game moving at a snails pace, but I assure you there is no power creep, hold maybe for reaper who is very strong, but only good because of the meta. DPS have seen the least amount of changes in the game over the past few years. Other heros are being toned down so dps can be usable. Not so dps have powercreep.
Agreed
Nope. This is totally up for the devs.
Yes
Nope.
Tanks, support, snipers, … Very similar.
Pacman? That’s out there. Overwatch? Not so much.
There’s nothing like a tank or support in Destiny, at all, trying to compare those is just like comparing apples to elephants, not even close.
And rainbow six siege is just a… Very, very bad game.
Let’s not pollute this game with ideas of those two games, no thank you.
They do share one common thing…boomers think they cause violence
Fascinating.
I know for me, overwatch being slow is what I at one point adored.
Aiming was easy so it was basically a cake walk to learn as the first fps I took seriously. And I could go back and play rainbow and actually be useful (I was always dead in rainbow and never knew why until I got the hang of tracer)
it will affect the 6 damage pellets heros like tracer and reaper and sombra have though, cutting their damage down by a 3rd making them less usable than they already were.
You whine about snipers but actively defend changes that make their counters unusable.
the reason snipers are so prominent is because every change they make makes chip damage unusable.
and even if someone is stubborn enough to try , by the time they chip through the health, ana is burst healing them for 93 health a shot when they are low making them have to do all that chip damage again, or baptiste is throwing an immortality field, or zen is transing, or lucio is beating.
but 6 months from now when snipers are meta youll claim its because snipers are op ,and not because of tank and healer power creep.
I did, honestly it was a good choice. Yeah the queue times suck, but what can you do.
Barrier…heals… Yes. There is…
Fairly subjective.
It already has? Note the list of abilities gone from this one that was literally entirely unique to overwatch at one point.
Barriers? Rainbow. Destiny. Hell fortnite.
Heals? Above.
Mass Rez? Perma teleportation? Auto lock dmg ? All unique to overwatch.
Also gone.
Exactly.
Ashe hs is literally erased by Ana in 1.2 seconds. You can get popped and just…duck for and get back up by Ana before Ashe can even see you again.
Which are not snipers.
Because Widow and Hanzo has innate armor… Oh wait, they don’t. Oops.
Because standing at a untouchable range behind their team being able to 1 shot like 75% of the cast is balanced.
Not like it is in Overwatch, don’t lie to yourself.
More like riot shields, a staple of FPS since… Lord knows when.
As far as I am concerned you can’t hold up a 2k health barrier infront of you in Fortnite.
I think the people calling for support nerfs will be the first to get angry when they keep dying because healers will not be able to make their work properly.
Also, if you make an entire class frustrating to play with, the DPS queue will take more time yet.
youre either intentionally ignoring the point, or too unintelligent to have this conversation.
you aren’t going to run a tracer when you can just use brig rally and armor packs to make her useless.
Sorry I thought youd be smart enough to understand that, ill adjust my expectations.
why would they run a hero that is affected by the chip damage nerfs when they try to take on tanks, when snipers can counter each other, and deal with the tanks?
untouchable range LOL not for flankers and dive tanks, which get shut down by the healing and tank power creep.
but again, I overestimated your understanding.
I think a lot of it for them has to do with all the visual clutter in the game atm and the insane movement abilities on some heroes which can distract from aiming.
I know I sometimes still get thrown when everyone simultaneously presses Q and the screen erupts and then feel like I’ve just gone through high speed chaos haha
Anyway, sorry, hope I didn’t derail your post too much!
And to get back on topic:
I know I said the idea was a hard no for me at first, but if the game hypothetically moved more towards a utility with a side of healing like for example launch Symmetra’s abilities it might be interesting to see. Especially as that would open up more options for unique hero designs I feel
Maybe. But maybe not as the dmg they do is suddenly.more mportant.
Why would it be frustrating? Heals does not inherently support make. Zen and Lucio have strong histories and I mean, both have had low heals their whole lives
The selling point of this game from the start has been that you shouldn’t be flattened out of spawn. That you should stand a fighting chance. That’s been the design philosophy from the get-go on this game. Hence the barriers and healers, their job was to keep people alive so that they stood a fighting chance. It was also what made the game fun.
A high TTK is inherently bad because most of the time, it’s cheesy death. You don’t stand a fighting chance, you don’t have a chance to retaliate. So the matches really comes down to who has the best of a select few heroes, like Hanzo and Widowmaker. Without shields, the snipers will have a field day.
And why would any tank or healer want to play those rolls? Tanks have the tools to withstand direct damage - which is taken away from them - and healers rely on others to do the job for them. 2 rolls that are already rather dull to play, is becoming even worse. You don’t stand a fighting chance against most DPSers, all you’re good for is feeding ultimate meters.
Yes there is. Nerfs to healers per example is a direct power creep to all DPSers, since the heal they’re doing is restoring less points than before. Then we have changes of heroes - like Junkrat’s second mine and Hanzo’s E ability - which brings in another strong combination of damage throughput to the matches. Sombra’s ability to remove other hero’s abilities, is a massive power creep in a game relying on abilities.
And with nerfing barriers it will be a massive power creep for Widowmaker, having more line of sights to pick off people.
So yes, power creep is indeed real in this game. The introduction of new heroes have made sure of that.
