Even IF most of the players like them? I’m not saying they do, but there is a good chance a majority would vote for them to stay. Why should they be removed because you don’t like them?
Would be interesting for Blizz to include the question in their next questionnaire.
in the case of 5v5 i really think its just that since the tank role. since the role is so powerful it really makes a difference it the match gap or skill gap. also that role always has to counter constantly or be a big deterence compared to the other roles. no one really wants to play tank either so the matchmaker trying to find equally skilled tanks probably never happens
hence the games feel real bad. these devs are stubborn to keep on going the 5v5 route and introduce a whole bunch of weird changes to make it work
thats really stubborn actually… i kinda wonder if its the head hancho who doesnt want to give it up? aaron keller?
i mean teams can still win if your tank is playing horribly but yea its very difficult to overcome. i actually had this game just right now where our mauga was feeding his brains out or just commiting suicide everytime he spawned. dude died more than he had kills i think 14 deaths or something. i think our team was potentially better but just having the tank be that bad drove us all the way back to the last point and LAST second in overtime. i played well but our ana was the real star… went back to watch that replay and she basically probably saved the game. i got potg but she should have had MVP
Player population is segregated into 5v5 open queue and stadium… is it any wonder why the match quality has gone down and the queue times haven’t improved?
Stadium in the end will hurt OW more because it will never be the main mode but it has taken players away from the main mode.
The quality has been worse than usual the last while, especially in stadium. I used to get a good mix of players. It’s now straight endorsement 2’s that stand around or relentlessly feed. It’s a pretty big turn off. QP is, well, QP. As per usual.
I did some experimentation. How the experience is for mid diamond account and mid gold account in QP.
My current account is sitting in md diamond DPS ranked and I have an old OW1 account sitting in gold.
What I observed on my main account: I don’t play with diamonds, always gold and plat, sometimes even silver. On the enemy their is maybe a diamond player.
This holds true for hundreds of games, so no fluke here. Sometimes messy, but feels overall “fair”
Second, mid gold account: I played almost a hundred games on heroes I am not good with, because I want to have this account when I want to lean back or my I have neurological deficits from epilepsy.
I thought I would see maybe a similar team setup on my gold account, but boy was I wrong. I regular got pulled in to games with several diamonds or master or pulled down into high bronze and silver.
Not a fluke since we talk about a match history of likely a hundred games.
My assumption is that mid ranks get pulled regular into higher and lower games to compensate.
Why are my matches on my diamond account so consistent? Because of the distribution of 1 diamond player to 4.5 gold/plat player
Rivals refugees, pc-console comp crossplay, new players due to them giving out a ton of loot boxes this season, old players due to ow1 classic, matchmaking pool split up into 36 different modes
