Where is the customization? All you get is 2 different bows and the 3 colors. Where is the other stuff? Hair changes? Armor changes? Anything? The past mythic skins have been fairly decent with at least 3 things to change on each skin. Why is hanzo only getting 2 things to change? I was looking forward to hanzo getting a mythic but just releasing 2 things to customize is disappointing. I get that some work went into the dragons and the audio but some other mythics got ultimate upgrades and audio too like sigma. I would have rather take more customization over the dragons and audio to be honest. I hope blizzard at the very least does an update later on and adds more customization to this mythic skin. this could be the start of bad mythic skin customizations coming out for other heroes in the future.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any lower. Blizzard always finds a way to disappoint you.
Less customization is definitely disappointing, I was hoping there’d at least be different pauldrons you could switch between.
At this point, I think the problem is with us as a community for expecting anything better from them. The “live service” model goes hand in hand with misery.
I mean Bungo is not wrong…
Overwatch’s “pattern” shows degrading quality making the following mythics look worse and worse compared to the first few…
If we’d never have gotten ones with as high quality as the first ones then we wouldn’t have this topic, but probably many topics about “Mythics are not Mythics, they’re legendaries with built in palette swaps.”
I think whats funny is for season 5 and 6 they implemented the change of unlocking styles throughout the pass. but because there is like nothing customizable to hanzos mythic they just have you unlock it all at level 80 again like it used to be, because he doesnt have enough styles to put throughout the pass
This same quote from bungie is why I left destiny after being a day one player. I haven’t played destiny ever since they said they didn’t want to overdeliver. They basically admitted they wanted to keep taking the lazy and greedy route and would rather focus on their shop. Have you seen the eververse? The armor sets and exotic ornaments have way better skins than the stuff you actually earn in game. Funny how they always overdeliver in the shop but they apparently cant overdeliver in their game.
hahahahahahahahahaha
Yes I know its not gonna happen but you never know. Back when hanzo first got his casual skin, he came out with white hair that looked like he had shaving cream instead of a beard and blizzard actually changed it to what it looks like today.
Bungies philosophy of patterns is detrimental to their own game. Yes the idea behind it is “correct”, but they’ve purposely bottlenecked creating more content when their teams stated they want to make more, only for the director to say no because it would break the pattern, purposely releasing sublime content
I feel like if people are paying for content, especially in a battle pass that doesn’t give you coins to buy the next one, it wouldn’t hurt for them to be a little bit consistent with their delivery on what is arguably the biggest draw of the battle pass.
? Hanzo’s looks miles and miles better than JQ’s and Tracer’s
All we can do is pray they read the feedback and we may see extras added in mid-season BP (fat chance but hopium is a thing)
if they add stuff it could mean potentially new color swatches for all mythics, but I doubt it so yeah. It’s a bad precedent.
Next season: 3 color settings only. No more design customization.
Season 9: You are no longer able to change the color. It’s just a legendary being passed off as a mythic.
Thats what I’m scared of, I have a feeling its gonna get really bad later on.
I mean. Whats the difference between legendary and mythic skins then? If its just one or two customization options with limited variation, then its not really any different outside of effects.
Quoted for emphasis.
Nah…
This is just Blizzard slow-coasting towards missing features and claiming they never had the time in the first place.
Between all these other currency costs for things like OWL skins, the prime, cream-de-la -cream Mythics get shortchanged the long OW2’s cash shop/battle pass model goes on. Because even OWL earns more money than a Battle Pass does.
Only Bungie could make up words like “Over-delivery” to explain why they are constantly cutting down on content or quality.
I mean, even FF14 shotcuts, but they’re always consistent on the amount of content for each expansion; even if some expansions lose out on certain contents (Deep Dungeons, or a new Eureka/Bozja missing in Endwalker in exchange for Criteron Dungeons).
On one hand, one could possibly blame Endwalker’s quality of post-game content due to COVID-19 restrictions and issues. On the other… it’s really hard to say the same about Onryo Hanzo’s Mythic, given that they had more than a year after the first Mythic was introduced to create a better or more customizable skin.
But yeah, we’re reaching the point where future Mythics may not even be worth it if quality isn’t kept up.
Yep. They dropped the ball here.
To be fair… if you start adding more and more features to the game, the next expansion will want to see improvements to all those features. FF14 (another great example here) is running into an issue where they have to constantly create new Jobs and all those Jobs are starting to see some more homogenization than usual. Every DPS Job now follows a 2-minute burst phase, wherein it used to be a little more unique than that. Not to mention that they originally had to cut down on the number of jobs introduced after the first expansion because of how much development time it took to make.
So I can see why they would want avoid pushing themselves into a wall where each new expansion is missing some improvement or other because of a feature they introduced in the last expansion that didn’t get any coverage in the next expansion. Your player-base may not be as understanding as others could be.
See above.
Not really.
I mean, Tracer’s is really good. Junker Queen’s is less so, but she was kinda added into the game for OW2… Tracer is a launch-era veteran. Hanzo doesn’t deserve a lack of customization here.
They have been adding more things to the BP, actually.
Only if we let them get away with it.
People should be outraged at this.
Hanzo is a fan-favorite hero even for many people who don’t even play DPS just because his and Genji’s story is so iconic to the franchise.
But what do we expect?
The fans have been demanding that they fix the Legendaries of Orisa and give every Legendary an unique Javelin, and Blizz has been ignoring that too.
I hope there will be a big enough outrage about this that Blizz will have to add extra customization to the Hanzo mythic mid-season.
inb4 next mythic skin is just a legendary skin with a voice changer and particle effects
What amazes me most about this limitation is that the skin basically has multiple EASY methods to make it more customizable: the shoulder pad, the tattoos, or even the hair.
it’s strange, and frankly if they have an update plan in mind for the mid-season like they did for the voicelines of Sigma’s mythic skin… I don’t really like this “coming soon” that no one asked for.
