HOPEFULLY, kiriko suzu nerfs and maybe that’ll be enough. maybe a slight healing nerf but that’s kinda whatever.
Illari bullet hitbox nerf and a pylon hp nerf at most probably
If biotic grenade reduces healing by 50-75% honestly that would probably be enough for ana.
Nerf discord damage, buff zen’s survivability. They nerfed discord’s range and made it feel super fricking bad without actually fixing the issue so I wish they would revert the range nerf while they’re at it
Baptiste… idek man. I think my ideal nerf for bap is just nerf his damage by 1 per shot and just remove the regen burst instant heal. or significantly reduce the amount of instant healing if they want to keep it. It does way too much rn. Baptiste is just my go to when we’re losing and im playing support because he kinda does a lot of damage and you can just roll people with window.
Because I am not struggling against them as a DPS player. But I see people that do, mostly by playing into the heroes’ strength and assuming that the same gameplay they use for everything else will work against every single hero ever.
I partially blame Blizzard for this, however, because its them the ones that have been nerfing to dumb down match-ups for popular heroes. Illari is the latest case of this, and as I predicted she is going to get destroyed by nerfs because Tracer/Soldier mains are complaining about her.
Also, Queue times differ from region to region and even the time of day. Right now my queue times are quite balanced at masters, with tank being the shortest always.
Orisa is an issue because the most popular DPS right now are dependent on headshots and blockable damage. She gets to freely cycle her cooldowns the moment your DPS are hitscans or snipers… which is why I have exactly zero issues dealing with Orisa as a Sym main. The moment I get a tiny space made by my tank, I just melt her through all her cooldowns as if she was made of butter.
Its hypocritical to point at supports just because you dont like the tank that is meta right now, as if the other tanks hadnt been equally enabled by supports before.
My hot take: neither are fault here and are merely symptoms of a completely defaced DPS roster, where the only heroes consistently allowed to be good are weak against Orisa by design, and the DPS heroes that have been catching the worse nerfs are the ones meant to rein her in.
People celebrate Sym nerfs and then complain when the hero weak to beams dominates. Its hysterical in its lack of self-awareness.
Most of those people have little understanding of the hero outside of the scenes of when they lose to them burned into their minds, and base their entire tirades on that is just… one peak reason why OW1 died.
Balance has become a thing of pandering to the loudest, even if the game’s health suffers for it.
That is going to be all of the changes i fear, they have no idea how to make something interesting to play as, and against.
They just make everything easy as possible so it feels good cause free results.
All they have to do is sit down and play MtG a while and learn that certain interactions (like stacks) get people univited from groups and then some interactions, can include several people in layers and everyone has fun. (in commander anyway modern is a garbage fire)
I guess you both need to exchange the version of ow you play, lol. I play all 3 roles equally at high ranks and when I choose to play support I feel being disgusting compared to the other two. Starting ow2 beta I shifted my focus into playing supports more and more, and now I see no reason to come back as this role is just better at everything whilst easier to play at the same time. So you exaggerate saying that dps or tank were any close to being strong for 5/7 seasons.
While i agree with most of what you said around this 100%, i always found it was the buffs that dumbed things down.
I like using genji as an example lol, but cancelled defect is a huge skill nerf, you no longer have a counter window and the enemy need to be way better to work around it.
as a player who plays dps the most i think supports should remain strong. i also think they should because of queue times. queue times are gonna get really bad if they overnerf the supports. dps mains you think its bad now… heh. i just rather they keep it the way it is since i dont want longer queue times
of course i also play support a bunch but not as much as dps so its nice playing them and feeling superior
tanks and supports will really be bottlnecked later i think depending on what the dev team does… i wish they never listen to people. thats how they mess up to begin with
First, there is no real proof of this other than influencer created echo chambers saying it is.
Second, after like 7 years of DPS being the most popular, I fail to see the issue even if it was true.
Well, its both really.
You overbuff them while you overnerf the (non-hitscan) competition. Soldier mains now dont have to fear Mei at all, when she was before a very scary outdueler. Now she is lol bodyshot her down.
As someone who primarily plays almost every support in masters except mercy pretty much I can see that they do in fact deserve to get nerfs. Most support players will tell you the same. You watch the SVB support debate they say the same thing
Yeah and in the same debate they are entirely fine with Ana as she is right now, which is not the same sentiment that every scorned rein/hog main in forums is crying about.
‘‘Bap and Illari might need some nerfs or changes to make their weaknesseses more pronunciated’’ does not translate to the absurdly caustic hatred some people are professing for just about every support in the game.
Literally the only supports people arent complaining about are the supports that were nerfed through all of OW1.
