No, because it makes people who don’t want to play comp feel like they’re forced to play a game mode they don’t want to play. The golden guns should be removed from the game, those that have already earned them can keep them.

It works both ways. Im the one of peoples who likes to play for a specific reason, reward. If I wont be rewarded anyway, why should I try my best to push my rank ladder ? Right now, since seasons doesnt really matter… Im playing it more like better version of qp (longer matches, less chaotic). Still not try harding coz there is no point, why should I care that much.
Rewards or no rewards… its dual edged sword.

No, thanks. I’m more for them removing golden guns from competitive entirely. The wrong types of people come to competitive strictly for golden guns; they don’t actually care about playing the mode competitively, but more like QP.
People keep saying “they will never add more competitive rewards” because of the statement Jeff said a long time ago. Well a long time ago Jeff also said they will never add Deathmatch into Overwatch… but here we are with FFA Deathmatch being one of the most popular arcade modes.

There is always a possibility they will add extra rewards for competitive at some point in the future.

I still don’t have a golden gun and have played since the start. That just shows I don’t really play competitive though. I will probably get mine next time there’s an arcade competitive mode though, I’m less than 200 away lol.
I don’t think they will add something just for competitive like that again. I would like to see additional ideas implemented (different colors maybe), just not competitive specific.

i think they should add chromas or spectral gun skins, like skins where the image is like space or universe themed. or something like that, cant run from your mistakes, might as well embrace it ya know? make it interesting, its a part of the game thats already here.
