If you want to get rid of goats permanently, you will need to implement role limits. As more heroes are added into the game, this is only going to become a bigger and bigger need.
If you want to get rid of this version of goats, you can just kill Lucio. Without him, the whole thing falls apart and becomes unplayable.
lmao. Another “nerf Brig more” thread disguised as a “I want what’s best for the game” thread. How about nerfing the 5 other heroes who enable this comp as well?
Mercy enables dps better than the other supports, and if she were more viable than so would the dps she works well with.
She doesn’t have to be the best hero again, just a bit better than she is now.

How would a permanently active inspire make her better for 2 healer comps? Buffing her AOE heal just makes her even better for goats.
Because you’d make it so LucioHeal and InspireHeal don’t combine.
I don’t see the devs ever doing that.
But you gotta admit, it would make MainHeal+Brig better.
But it would make Healer+Lucio+Brig worse.
It is gonna make GOATs even worse.
The damn comp already take to long to kill, now add a Mass Resurection on top of that.
Good luck pushing the payload over any choke in the next 10 minutes with tripple Overtime triggered.
All you have to do is reduce or remove aoe heals stacking. It doesn’t nerf any characters, just the synergy between Brig and Lucio.
Or we can just nerf heal stacking and damage to deal with healing / damage creep instead of making the game more boring. This should work as well imo
How about someone in Blizzard apply the same healing mechanic in TF2 into Overwatch?
As long as we nerf damage dealing stacking when i have 3 DPS teams as well…
Hanzo, Widow, McCree. There, goats is fixed now.
You run goats for the same reason you can’t run anti goats. Goat’s is ran so your team doesn’t get bursted down with one shots, as was the meta just before goats. And the best anti goats hero’s like junkrat and pharmercy can’t be played because hero’s like widow, mccree and hanzo destroy them.
Nerfing tanks and healers isn’t ever going to change that, all the healing in the world can’t save tanks from being bursted down, which has been more than proven through multiple meta’s. It requires 3 tanks and 3 healers working together to be able to survive against hero’s that have been proven to destroy 2/2/2 comps.

no one mentioned bringing back mass res, they only said to buff mercy.
Ok, I just realized what I qoute.
Oops.
While these are all comp’s run they are VERY map and map point specific. The Quad DPS is basically only used on route 66 point A.
Winston GOATS is more team dependent
GOATS is still about 80% of the main comps played. Sure there is some variation between the main tank and DVA on some points. There was actually more variation with Ana/Moira/Zen goats but everyone just realized that discord is still broken so zen is basically the only GOATS variant played.
The pro meta really doesnt have a lot of variety.
There is more AoE heal in the game than Brig and Lucio.
Moira, Ana, Mercy and Zen also have AoE heal abilities.
I would also imagine that it is pretty much impossible to find a consistent and balanced way to decide which heal is working and which isn’t.
Just 2 of many possible examples:
Ana Nade on a target already getting healed by Lucio:
Does it make the Nade useless? That would be pretty silly.
Lucio and Brig:
They would be literally unplayable together and the Support rooster is already pretty small.
Sounds like a balance nightmare to me…
GOATS is the result of having enough support hero options to stack aoe healing.
The only way to bury goats without redesigning the whole game system is to make aoe heals ult only, or make them not stack (ie, low cap).
In the last interview with IDDQD, Geoff Goodman made a good point that it’s not as simple as just implementing 2/2/2 due to the hybrid nature of some heroes. Some people use Roadhog and D’va as DPS so if you have two players who are locked into the tank role who main those specific heroes then there’s not really going to be a functioning, practical tank on the team.
