Not to sound like that guy but let’s be honest, these stereotypes are kind of based off something.
Not all girls play Mercy and D.va but I’ve seen more who do then don’t.

Not all girls play support, but looking at my friend list I only have one girl that doesn’t main support phara/zarya mostly the rest are mercy/moira mains.

Saying that most girls don’t play support is kinda not true, look at twitch streams most of them are supports, same goes for league of legends too (you have role select in league).

Don’t put the blame on someone insta locking dps for girls preferring the support role :l

Except y’know, all the girls playing all the other non support characters. Like the highest ranked FEMALE Zarya player, or the army of Dva players.

I would love to play tanks or DPS more.

But I’ve been shoehorned into the support role so many times I’m significantly better at it, to the point where I feel like I’m hindering my team if I play anything else. Back when I played league, I started out as a mid/top player. however my boyfriend’s friend decided the best response to me not playing those roles as well as he wanted me to (as i was level ~10 while they had been playing over a year) was to instalock the only midlane hero I owned. Then when I switched to top lane, he got another friend to instalock that hero. They basically did this until I got shoved down in bot as a support.

Maybe my case is an outlier, But I wouldn’t be surprised if there were other female players that got harassed into the support role so often that they just ended up better at it than anything else.

Even if girls do play support more like mercy and moira ect whenever a guy has to play support on my team he will always go Lucio or zen even if that’s not what we need.

At least mercy and moira are far more useful. (Incoming Lucio is the best support hate replies)

I won´t say Lúcio is the best, rather that Mercy or Moira with Lúcio could be good
( and when I pick a hero I try to pick what is needed )

I mean usually the last guy to pick will pick Lucio or zen as solo healer no matter what even if it doesn’t fit the team comp plus having an actual main healer works far better in that scenario. That’s why i am behind the idea of having a male MAIN support in the future so guys won’t have their fragile masculinity broken if having to heal

So yeah, I’m a woman and I play Mercy and DVa a lot.
But I have also a lot of hours with Sombra, McCree and Zarya. And sometimes I just want to play Widow but guess what, we already have a Hanzo, DF, Tracer and Genji on our team so I pick healer or tank. I don’t think that dying every few seconds is funny.

And yeah, I like to play support. And so what? It’s not like that it’s bad or something. I don’t need to play dps to validate my skills or to feel better than everyone else (I played with some guys yesterday who said that support is the easiest role and the less important. Yeah, of course :thinking:)
I hate that kind of thinking. Every role is important. And btw, I have a better winrate with Sombra than with DVa and Mercy on my alt account. So…

I mean people play a character that they enjoy. I love to play Ana but I’m definitely a guy.

I’m a guy and have like 300+ hrs as mercy haha.

But all these try hard dps players would never play her. Say they can’t play her (the easiest hero ) and then begin to choose widow or tracer

You know what - I’m not a tryhard DPS who refuses to play healers - I play quite a bit of Moira, Lucio, Zen, and I even pick Ana when I feel like failing miserably.

But I just can’t ever seem to get into playing Mercy nowadays.
It just feels so BORING ever since the changed Rez.

Seriously, I’m all for playing supports, and it can be both fun and satisfying - but I just can’t seem to find the “Fun” in playing Mercy.
