Getting weird server issues

This started happening 4 hours ago when i was playing comp and all of the sudden my character starts moving backwards and when i try to move forwards i get rubber banded and i can see my teammates moving normally and there is no comms interruptions so something must be happening with the info traveling between me and the servers because it doesnt seem to affect the rest of the server but me.

so after that small issue (i lost the 50sr for leaving and our team lost the game) i stopped playing comp and went to QP and the same thing starts to happen after about 30 mins of playing and at one point i exited and entered the match 7ish time within the same game of QP.

This issue is nothing i’ve seen before. so the enemy can see me and shoot me and i can see the enemy shoot me and i can move my camera around but i cannot use any of my abilities or my primary fire i can just watch as the enmy shoots me dead and then i get DCed and then returned to spawn in the same game like nothing happened.

i wonder if anyone else had this happen. i am putting this under Bug reports because i have no idea where else to put this

Why even play comp when an EVENT RELEASES.

Cmon people isn’t it well known or common sense when 2+ million people get into overwatch or that big amount play at once that there are server issues happening because of that?

It’s a well-known issue since Archives but Blizzard keeps stating it’s on players’ ISPs. I thought the Anniversary update would fix it but apparently it didn’t since you just perfectly described the problem a lot of players went through.

People suffering from this are mostly located in EU (Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden etc…). There were some cases on the US servers too, though.

We’re stuck with this server issues because ISPs state it’s not on their end and Blizzard state the same. No one is willing to look into these disconnects.

You can send a ticket to Blizzard (I did) but after more than one week sending data and stuff, they simply replied they couldn’t do anything (in a 3-sentence answer).

Don’t waste your time, just wait until an upcoming bnet update randomly fixes the problem.

As far as I’m concerned, I didn’t get any disconnects for a week (even though I didn’t play comp that much) but still get the “character moving on their own” issue now and then but if I fight against it by trying to keep moving my hero, it doesn’t get to the disconnecting part.

I guess I’m lucky and didn’t play at the worst moment or maybe the situation improved somehow.

Good luck putting up with this crap, mate. I feel for you.

Hmmm, it’s not an “event release” type of problem, buddy.

What OP describes is something else that has been around for quite some time now (early April). The devs advise us not to play comp in the following 2 or 3 hours after an update.

Anniversary was released yesterday so the servers should be stable now (it’s not an indie company). OP posted 3 hours ago which means the problem they’re describing doesn’t have anything to do with the recent update. It just proves the server disconnects issues from April are still not fixed, sadly.

i started getting the problems in the middle of the night so there should not have been that much traffic in the NA servers
