My latency is always between 40 and 50, I’ve never seen it higher than 60.
Here’s a different match where the same thing happened:

I was inside spawn. Inside the yellow hallway. I died because, on the McCree’s screen I was still moving slowly on the front of the bus.
Where I was, and where the McCree saw me were in completely different places.
That’s just a weird bug not a specific favour the shooter client-server interaction.
I actually wish they had more wall bang spots, like the original counterstrike had. Used to be great fun wallbanging and getting the odd lucky shot, then being accused of hacking.
See, this is why people don’t bother with “proof.” I just showed you proof in excruciating detail, and you refused to acknowledge it. You’re just a troll.
It may not be an issue with favor the shooter (but it definitely exacerbates it) but I’ve found the damn latency icon going off nearly constantly every match and I have a great high speed cable connection. I don’t know how consoles connect but we need to make sure someone in east romania isn’t hosting the game.
No you showed a weird firestrike bug or just a bug with that specific piece of geometry on that map.
PROOF would be the firestrike flashing past you on the right and you still being hit. THAT is what the whole favour the shooter interaction is. THAT would be proof.
My ping is like 15-20ms and I never have this problem. Maybe your ping is unstable and spiking? Though sometimes it happens that anna sleeps me through reflect and mcree stun going straight through as well. On COD if you switched to wifi with really bad internet you would destroy the enemy because of lag compensation so kids would lag switch too. I don’t know if that’s the case here on Overwatch.
I once killed a Junkrat before a match started because he used an emote while directly against the door and part of his head clipped through.
That is all I have to contribute. I dont experience anything this bad.
There´s always janks after updates. Everytime, if you say no, you might be lucky one not to notice. Now it might be because league again though.
Some parts of servers kick players out, some have minor/major lag spikes, nothing you can really do to those
yeah but they too busy with events and censoring hong kong mentions to actually work on networking code… something that has needed improved for years, but they cool with this shoddy networking code because well ya guys keep buying games ran on it.
We need video evidence before anyone takes you seriously. Everyone in this thread is saying nothing remotely similar happens to them
I notice similar problems.
And I have a usual latency of 25-30ms.
As he stated it’s most noticeable with fast moving heroes. Lucio for example or with Doomfist. Rocketpunch cancel moves you so fast away I often die a few meters behind cover. Instead in the killcam you can see I never reached cover.
But it is due to the fast pacing of the game. You have that problems in other Multiplayer shooters as well. But they don’t feel as bad if they are played in a slow way.
Either OP is exaggerating to the extreme or
their internet is poo poo and they are dropping packets like mad.
I’ve died by people shooting at my old location after/during a genji dash or tracer blink several times.
Never experienced anything like this in unreal tournament and that game is definitely not slow.
Especially not in instagib.
Yup, only here no one is prob activating lag switches … everybody is matched with everybody(natural lag).
Like when in good old days of Combat Arms you’d play with 1s pingers from South America(servers were in Germany) … those were the days
Lag switching in unreal tournament got you kicked from the server in an instant.
UT was something else … Too bad “Gears of War” killed it
Get rubberband death with Lucio fairly regularly with a sub 50 ping. I just accept it as part of the typical game now.
What I would say is “don’t trust the replays, they aren’t accurate anyway”.
I’ve seen some really bizarre discrepancies between what happens in a match, and what the replays show. I’ve been killed by a doomfist punch only to show a Lucio booping me off an edge; I’ve seen McCree flying across Illos map only for it to show him standing right next to me. It’s all sorts of crazy and you can’t depend on it at all.
Trust what happens in front of you and what the live killfeed shows. Forget the replay or deathcam.
