Genuine suggestions for Summer Games 2019

  • Competitive Lucio Kart

Running off the use of Lucio for the games - why not have a ‘go-karting’ map for 8 Lucio’s to skate and wallride around, with secret places to go like in the real Mario kart. (Then as done this year, change the karting map to a real map - another KoTH pls <3) First, second and third place gain SR (more sr is given the higher you are) and the other 5 lose SR (again you lose more the further down you are). Maybe have the map’s obstructions change randomly each game to prevent one single strategy being dominant.
This would be nice as it’s fast pace and good players will instantly rise to the top - unlike Lucioball where people can get to a rating they don’t belong in.

  • Competitive “League” 1V1s

8 players join one game and are placed each placed against one person. So 1 person fights another while 2 other matches of this go on, a hero is chosen at random for each round (all 3 matches using the same hero ofc). The winner of each match is moved up to the next match, 4 players at this point are left, there would be two matches going on at once and same rules apply as above. Once that match has finished, the last 1v1 happens which fights for the most SR.
The bottom 4 all lose 25 SR - the 5th, 6th and 7th gain 20 SR - the overall winner gains 30sr. (TBD /shrug)

Those are my two favourite ideas for a Summergames event - I don’t really like Lucioball’s relation to real sports as many people who play Overwatch don’t like sports but enjoy Overwatch for it’s more exciting gameplay. Lucioball just wasn’t fun because of its shotty hitreg and it’s basic playstyle that didn’t demand much skill. If you have any suggestions then explain them below and I can quote them in the post! :slight_smile:

The Competitive “League” makes me think of the mini-tournaments in 8-Ball Pool on Miniclip.

Basically you want a system like that, am i right? (in case you know about the game)

Interesting ideas, but regarding Lucioball I would like to see 2019…

  • Fix issues with the ball’s hit registration
  • Add logic to who is selected as goalkeeper after each goal (e.g. the player with the least ultimate charge % at the time is made goalkeeper)
  • Reduce the duration of the matches (I think 3 minutes is ample for both Copa Lucioball and standard Lucioball)
  • Change the overtime mechanic to some type of penalty shootout
