All he needs is the ridiculous continuous double jump put on a cool down.
How is it ridiculous? It’s a predictable arc. It shouldn’t really get a cooldown in my opinion
In the opinion of even the character designer himself, it was a bad idea to have this constant Mexican jumping bean all the time. It’s just a bit silly and unnecessary.
will do, have a nice victim compl- i mean day
Ah yes funny joke I love it
That’s fair, I can see it being silly, but I just don’t think it’s broken or needs changes. His whole kit is based around mobility, a grounded Genji becomes awful
i thought you said double jumping made you super predictable.
If that is true, then not double jumping shouldn’t make him awful.
What kind of logic?
It’s predictable, yes, he is easy to shoot.
A grounded genji cannot aim his projectiles properly, as he can’t get an angle to actually throw them at who he wants. He is blindly throwing 28 dmg stars at the frontline and shields. It also leaves him heavily vulnerable to melee attacks such as Reinhardt.
And a grounded Genji can ADAD spam making it harder to it him, and people will complain about that.
Easy to shoot and predictable doesn’t mean he’s better on the ground, I never said that. It means that his jump arch is predictable and leaves him open to being shot.
Exactly.
It’s far easier for any hitscan to hit shots on an airborne Pharah, this doesn’t mean Pharah is stronger on the ground.
I wonder that every time i read your posts.
predictable arc yes. easy to shoot, no.
one of the smallest hitboxes and crit box disappears.
Suddenly his projectiles are unaimable? because they can hit people other than the intended enemy…
Just like every other hero in the game.
lol what crazy logic.
That means every hero should be able to double jump to get better angles.
which means he isnt awful when on the ground.
oops wait, you said he would be.
No what you said is “a grounded genji would be awful” and genjis double jump is predictable and easy to shoot.
which are mutually exclusive.
Genji is the best dps right now in game proven by his pickrate and winrate in a meta that is unfavorable to him.
However, if he is terrible grounded and is easy to hit in the air, then that would mean he is one of the easiest targets to hit in the game.
BUT He isn’t
Genji mains gotta stop acting like he is the most balanced thing in game.
He has monsterous invisible hitboxes on his abilities.
He has exceptions to almost every rule.
His ult easily gets the most kills of any ult and has so many exceptions associated with it.
ANY hero in this game that has hard countered Genji has been nerfed into the ground.
Suck it up and realize you defend the hero because you like playing an overtuned hero instead of playing on equal ground.
Ah yes, good jab. That’s what is needed, Metaspy telling me that my posts have no logic.
Good thing you can do damage without crits! And, really, his hitbox isn’t that small. It is about the same size as any thin framed hero. The predictable arc is what makes it easy, as you should know by know where he will be heading. This leads me to believe it’s an issue of the player, not the character design.
“Genji can not aim his projectiles properly” meaning that his slow projectiles will be unlikely to hit his desired target, since it is so easy for them to be blocked by the frontline shields and unintended targets. Yes, every hero has this to an extent, but when your projectiles do 28 damage and travel slowly, it’s far more noticeable than McCree or Hanzo, or Widow or Soldier. He has some of the lowest DPS in the game of all DPS heroes, so it makes sense that he is able to get better shots in rather than being forced to stand on the ground hoping his primary lands.
He would be bad at his intended job, yes. Great job at cherry-picking statements out of context, it’s working great!
Really now? He has a decent pickrate of all DPS thanks to Nano-blade, provided by your “Must Pick Healer of the Month.” In the Triple Tank, Beyblade and Double Sniper meta, he was either bad or decent. In this current meta, he’s average. Let’s talk statistics, right?
He has a 4.44% pickrate, highest of all DPS. Ashe follows at 3.66%. Genji has a 50.77% winrate, while Ashe holds a 52.81%. She is doing very well at the moment across all ranks, not too far behind Genji in the grand scheme of things.
Genji is the best right now because of a ultimate combo. He feeds off tanks and then gets Dragonblade, combos it with Ana, and then BOOM- he’s suddenly doing something in the match.
I think he is, actually. With such a predictable arc, it’s easy to track him and melt him, especially with Zarya.
As soon as you stop acting like he’s broken, sure.
Swift Strike and Blade. Here, I’ll cut a deal. Fix Ghostblade and the wasted swing at the end of his ultimate, and we can fix the hitbox. Every Genji player would prefer it this way.
Such as? What, a barely noticable bonus speed? Keeping his ultimate when he dies the instant he presses Q, just like Soldier and Bastion? That has a logical explanation if you need that re-explained to you. Let’s see, um… I’m drawing a blank, please inform me as to what “rule” he has exceptions to.
Maybe understand that his entire kit is based on his ultimate, and even then, 80% of Genji’s suck with it.
Counter =/= instantly delete from the match. And Brigitte is still effective, so is Winston, McCree (especially buffed.), Hog, etc… . Again, this seems like a player issue, not a balance issue. If he couldn’t be defeated and countered, he would have had a 56% winrate just like Brigitte had for ever. That’s what overpowered means.
How about you suck it up and realize that Genji isn’t broken. Learn to play against him instead of whining about how you think he is OP when he objectively isn’t. Instead, you provide garbage arguments and misuse statistics to your agenda, along with implying false ideas. It’s just ignorant.
By the way, I play him, but when you actually look at my profile, you can see I have a lot of experience playing against him as well.
It is really funny, watching someone whine about Genji while also defending pre-nerf Brigitte.
Take your own advice, will ya?
Oh? Wait last time I checked these heroes weren’t “nerfed into the ground”
Mei
Winston
McCree (he’s not good, but he wasn’t nerfed really)
Torbjorn
Symmetra
Roadhog
Reinhardt
Zarya
No, but you’re right though. All those heroes were nerfed into the ground and basically Genji hard counters don’t exist anymore. /s
Hey that’s a cool meta Genji is in! Oh wait. No DPS are in the current meta. It’s almost like people who suggest nerfing DPS and DPS nerfs at this time in general make absolutely no sense.
People here seems to think that DPS are good right now, when in reality, Genji literally just farms for blade off the tanks he cant kill and then Nanoblades the enemies lel.
It’s almost like Genji isn’t good, but Nanoblade is.
According to DPS mains this game cant have counters, so if genji counters anyone he must be nerfed!!
Oh but I bet that rule doesnt apply to DPS does it?
“Carry” on!!
Excuse me? What? This game can have counters, what DPS mains claim that it shouldn’t? Is there an actual source for this? That is quite a statement
Really… TORB AND SYMM!!!
Ill give Genji mains one thing: It takes courage to say that the worst dps in this game are good against one of the best dps.
Turrets counter Genji. Especially if they are slowing him.
They aren’t necessarily major counters, but counters nonetheless.
Is Sombra no longer a counter since she performs poorly statistically? Genuine question.
Seriously? Have you heard of Tracer? Have you heard of Brig? R U new here?
Open your eyes, why was Brigs combo that is only lethal to Tracer get removed?
Why was Brig added to the game in the first place?? (Hint its the same reason she was nerfed and starts with a T)
The mighty and feared Genji dances all over the enemy team, slashing and dashing as he pleases. They shoot, they stun, they ult…but it’s as if his health never goes down due to what surely must be a microscopic hitbox. Once he’s grown bored of having his way with them, he jumps…no…flies into the sky.
Frustrated and defeated, the enemy team storms into the forums to demand nerfs to this blatantly OP character.
But what’s this? We hear a cackle from the shadowy corners of the map where Genji’s enabler waits in hiding. With the point now won, the true master villain whom the enemy team failed to focus steps forth and proclaims to her Genji, “Get in there. I’ll keep you patched up.”
End Act 2
