Game Crash - Detected Bios is older than recommended

I updated my windows last week to the latest version and started getting this error randomly and the game would crash to desktop. The crash would happen either in the main menu or randomly mid game.

I updated my bios and the crashing stopped for about a week. Managed to play like 5 hours during the weekend with friends with no issues, but it happened again today.

Can someone help? I have the latest Bios and I don’t even understand why this is an issue as I sometimes play ow on my 7 year old laptop that has not been updated in forever. It’s very frustrating cause I keep getting penalized for leaving matches so I can’t even test it properly.

My motherboard is MSI b760 gaming plus if that helps with anything.

Is the Overwatch error reporter showing or is this error coming from windows? If the error is from Overwatch usually it helps to paste the crash report ID.

This is not a good recommendation because the tool for reading the crash report IDs broke quite some time ago, so the staff are no longer able to use them. If it’s a general error, those can be looked up in the Support documentation on the Battle.net site.

It’s an overwatch error.
Error report Detected BIOS is older than recommended. Please consider updating to the latest BIOS version available from the motherboard manufacturer’s web site. → More help: BLZOWCLI00000007

Like I said, everything is updated and it’s still happening. No clue what else can I do, no issues with other games

Did you update the chipset drivers for the card too?

Does the Blizzard Error reporter also show as well as the error dialog box? If the blizzard error reporter is showing pasting the Report ID helps Blizz look at the error.
