Replying to confirm you are NOT the only player affected and to consolidate links for reference… the symptoms have changed slightly over time, as noted in this topic:
But, as of this post, this issue unfortunately is still present and impacting players (myself and yourself included).
I was able to change mine. Did you:
- Change it in game.
- Log out of game.
- Log out of forum.
- Log back into forum.
- Or try another browser?
If you completed these steps let me know.
I’ve tried this exact process several times over the last few months and have never gotten it to work.
How new was the icon?
I tried switching to Summer Games 2016, and I still see the Lootbox after relogging.
I’ve tried Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. Sadly the same result.

Same as @TylerG-11641, I have completed those steps as well, but to no avail.
Currently, my in-game player icon is set to Pagoda (Special category). I have also tested other owned (unlocked) icons from the Battle Pass category, Blizzard category, Overwatch category (including heroes’ “Silhouette”s unlocked from challenges), seasonal events from years past, etc. But, the issue remains.
