I just don’t think Flats is the best to really look at opinions on the game. Especially since he’s been getting really cocky lately.

That is not because “top 500 players are correct” but because “top 500 players opinion favor my agenda.”
You can listen to their analysis. Their opinion for Moira at their level hasn’t changed. She got placed in B tier because she’s really strong in some of the lower ranks.
Yet even if their opinion has changed it is absolutely normal. Mercy wasn’t S tier a few weeks ago either. Balance changes result in meta changes result in opinion changes.

Even the forums have reported on he believes the game is healthy when Rein/Winston is meta.

ehhh i personally think hes C tier too. worst 5 dps heroes in the game but useable. thank god he’s not in sombra tiers of “uselessness” though. for genji, just needed 29 dmg shurikens and then hes easily B/A tier again which is fine.
although he’d definitely be D tier if he were to somehow magically got a fire rate nerf for example. because ya know, “nerf genji.” :')

Flats was better when he made Overwatch gameplay content, not content about Overwatch.
His understanding of balance is frequently wrong (one of the reasons he wants more frequent balance changes) or he just parrots the opinions of others who actually know what they’re talking about. Remember, he had Zarya in “B tier” in his Overwatch 2 Launch tier list. He had access to the game for a week by that point.
He’s very good at creating the perception of being in control. Releasing a rant about lack of balance updates when he knew that a balance update was less than a week away is a good example of this.

i think patch might be more for next week or the week after. i think this week is rather too soon imo. im suspecting the devs to still be in sort of “vacation mode”

The event definitely starts tomorrow. Would be weird for them to start a big event without bumping the game version to 2.2.1 (which presumably contains some of the assets for the event).
This update was prepped internally in early-mid December, before they went on vacation.
They’re already working on the Season 3 mid-season patch.

I want to apologize for being part of the ‘posting Flats’ problem.
I made a thread (along with several others) about his video that pointed out the obvious flaws during the start of season 2 and did so only cause he just praised this game left and right was so relived he came back to earth for once so I HAD to post it.
Now it seems that whenever he makes a peep it’s posted on here and I think I helped in doing that so sorry.
I thought Flats was a fun Top 500 players to watch (only seen like maybe 2 hours of his matches) but I mainly watched his specing bronze videos cause IMO Flats is a good coach and can help those way below his rank to improve. That’s about it tho.
His videos since OW2 launched have been not so good and his tier list I just can’t even agree with half of it. I don’t think he is the best person to take advice about the future of this game anymore.
Sorry Flats, loved ya specs videos but you’re losing me.
