✅ Fix: Frequent game balance

Jeff did an interview on how the PTR is usually a ghost town, giving no useful data.
Also everyone knows one of the biggest problems with Overwatch is it’s slow clunky balancing process.
Why not fix that process? Balanced faster, better data, happier players.

Or said another way, increase your MAU, and make shareholders happier with their ATVI investment…
Activision: Tough Comps Heading Into 2020 (NASDAQ:ATVI) | Seeking Alpha

  1. Post balance changes to the PTR on a Thursday, with bugfixes and new code.
    • Get data from that.
  2. Then put the “numbers only” balance changes to Quickplay the following Tuesday.
    • Minus new code that require bugtesting/console certification.
    • More testing data from that.
  3. Then post the “numbers only” balance changes to Competitive the following Tuesday.
  4. Backtrack and iterate as needed.
  5. Post the bugfixes/code changes stuff whenever.

ive been pushing the idea of putting PTR in the arcade on here as of late…and people always point out that they cant for technical reason (which i know…just saying they should figure out a way to do it…or at least work on it)…

but ill meet everyone halfway…

put just the balance changes…the number changes…the stuff that we all know could easily be done in custom/workshop…on the arcade itself as a separate box…like they need people to actually try the changes?..problem INSTANTLY fixed…

front and center…arcade boxes…they would GET people “testing”

Sooo get no data at all?

Well it gets useful data for the first couple of days. Which is why posting it on a Thursday, then pushing to QP 4 days later makes sense

You do realise the PTR is for testing the stability of patches…right?
Nothing else.
Jeff even admitted it in one of the developer updates.

K, even better reason to get the numerical balance changes off of it as soon as it’s no longer benefiting from testing data.

Well, this video sounds familiar.
