Thanks for the flase flags losers
I’m a big strong man who mains a small cute girl with an ice gun.
Come at me bros
…discussions like this are difficult as it slaps generalizations on people (or stereotypes) when, in reality, aren’t the rule…
…that said, perhaps it speaks to the nature of the people that identify with these heroes…?
She is thicc cute Satan😁
I play tracer no one assumes anything.
People don’t play female heroes? Sojourn exists
I feel like this is a take that needs statistics to follow it, it’s an awfully generalising conclusion to get to
It is, but I don’t feel like I’m completely wrong
Or are 80% of mercy players straight men
Idk, my buddy is an ex soldier who is as masculine as you can get really and he mains Mercy. I main Mei, i think it has more to do with playstyle than gender identity tbh
people seem to think im female because of name and choice of hero on here but im a male but click with female heroes but irl im in a way more girly than this so called “masculine”
this is not pre elon musk twitter my guy
And post elon musk Twitter is doing so well
It’s just a question/observation
No one plays the listed heroes because they are not META.
Look at Ashe, Widow, Tracer and now Sojourn.
Completely destroys OP’s claims.
Edit:
Forgot Ana, a Woman of Color from an Arabic Nation who’s older (meaning not physical attractive/Sexualized)
2nd Edit:
Also we have 2 Masculine Supports in Lucio and Baptiste. 3 if you put in Zen. Unless you mean Randy-Savage levels of Masculine. R.I.P.
Randy Savage
So heroes that are more conventional vs non-conventional
Edit
In terms of play style. Sniper, shooter, etc. Vs beam and turret user
Edit 2
I still think even if these heroes were meta, certain players would actively avoid playing them
Let’s take Symmetra Vs Ashe
Identity BS aside, which is more useable in various scenarios and has the better loadout?
No generalizations based on identity, just one has a better kit than the other.
There was actually a poll on this on the r/mercymains channel, it’s obviously not the most reliable since its not the entire mercy playerbase but if its anything to go by, its around 60/40 for men/women, if not 50/50
That’s interesting to know ty
They’re both extremely boring.
That’s a weird take… because you assume these heroes are only played by certain demographics.
I mean… the Mercy one is certainly not completely wrong, but simply because of her playstyle and not character design. Despite that I myself, a straight dude is playing her from time to time.
From the Symmetra mains I know and knew, 3 of them are dudes and one is female, with only the later is bi.
I do assume, but not without reason.
From my perspective I see a lot of noise from the community of people who play them. From all the sym mains I DO know, they are LGBT. The subreddit also echoes the same opinion.
In this thread OP asks why are stereotypes true.
