I share the feeling. I never stopped playing altogether but I came close to and god knows I wanted to. I went for playing over 140 hours in a season to playing about 30 when Mercy 2.0 went live. I didn’t like her even when she was OP af, because that was boring af to play too.

I mean they have given their opinion on the matter several times. It just so happens to be the opposite of what the Mercy players want to hear. I feel she is in a good place right now.
As far as her no longer being fun goes because of the rework, I would say that’s hogwash. I mean the primary thing that changed was she no longer rez’s as an ULT other than that EVERYTHING else was a buff to her overall kit.
If that’s the case Mercy players were staking their entire existence in teh game off a 2 second moment. And while Ults are a big part of the game they aren’t the only part. So you’re saying that for the other 7 minutes and 40 seconds in a game you were just as bored before?

Thing is… Orisa never got a rework that redid her playstyle that made a lot of people who used to like her absolutely hate her.

Same. The invincibility buff was too extreme of QOL, it took away a lot of the risk for the reward.
To me the fun of Mercy was testing my complete knowledge of the map and awareness of cooldowns and ultimates (hex rockets for soldier on cooldown for instance) and deciding when to use it. 1 res good enough for ult? K. Wait for 3? Good. Etc.
Rarely would I ever really “hide”, becuase that denies your team 50hp/s (AT THE TIME BEFORE HEAL BUFF)-- and denying that is literally asking for a wipe just to revive.

I don’t think that you should balance around Overbuff and OWL but ok.
Imho, Mercy isn’t dead thanks to her fans, not other.

As long as she keeps being as boring as she is now, there will be complaints. And yeah, fun is subjective, that’s why you give people options.
Maybe it’s because THEY ALREADY SAID THAT SHE WAS IN A GOOD SPOT. In a developer update a longgggg time ago. Mercy is fine. Whether she could use tweaking is debatable, all heroes could be tweaked. I don’t think they’re waiting for anything. Because she’s not suffering like other heroes.

Thanks god no more hidden Mercy’s thread until next year now.
Invincibility buff was great, you could use your ultimate to save yourself from certain death at the cost of only getting a single res off. Added some choice.

I distinctly remember posts made constantly before the buff and rework
“what does mercy offer that other healers don’t?”
“rez is just giving you opponents more ult charge!”
these are things people would say about mercy when compared to the other healers.
there was definitely a time she was considered usless.
Yeah but it also deleted the primary counterplay to big Resurrects. That being delete Mercy before her team gets up fully, then win the 6v5 where they’re down their main heals.

Tbqh that is shocking to hear but yeah it has been like 5 months of mega threads with any and all Mercy threads being thrown into it.
And the fact that he did pick out of everything to focus only on winrate % and pickrate % clearly indicates that the thread was not read-- or that the debrief of a thread sent to him was ignored if even a debrief was written.
Tbqh now I am remembering the feeling of why I actually gave up on this game months ago after the rework.
The dumpster thread, the over-focus on winrate and pickrate… if I didn’t love bridgette right now I might actually uninstall.
This actually sort of does verify that stuff, as you said. That ultimately that thread was a dumpster to ignore Mercy players.
Happy people don’t make 5 month long megathreads, brutally true.

Still, I’d rather have it than not.
These types of comments used to make as much sense as the ‘Mercy will be useless’ kind of comments we had after the 2.0 rework, so you get what I mean.
The time she was considered a troll pick was the tank meta with Ana 1.0 as the main healer and Zen as a secondary.
How salty would you be if Tracer (assuming that’s your favorite hero) got changed so much that she basically wasn’t Tracer anymore?

I still don’t get why Mercy mains find her unfun now, old Mercy was just a press q bot now she has more things to do.
