the amount of people who would flip out on me if i died with rez because i was out healing people was insane. I refuse to do the mercy “hiding” thing because it was boring. But being screamed at over mic because I died felt horrible. I’d rather not have that back. I think it was more balanced than now (not saying shes OP now bc she isn’t) but mass rez was stressful to have.

You don’t like the ult because people were mean and bullied you for dying, sounds less like a problem with the ult and more like a problem with your teammates. If you know that tempo rezing is better than hiding for the 4-5 man, then don’t do it, stick to the tempo rez. No one really ever forced you to hide, they may have yelled at you to, but they can’t force you to do it.

I didn’t hide. The people who pushed the mercy’s to hide were tanks and DPS. Which then led to “omg this is so annoying trying to find the mercy” it’s a joke. I don’t want Mercy 1.0 back because of that. Anyone who trash talked a mercy for dying with rez is a joke and if you did that then you don’t deserve to play the game. JOKE.
Can you imagine if you didn’t pick Mercy and went with a different healer? Everyone would be reporting you for gameplay sabotage and people would be throwing.
Especially if the other team had a Mercy and yours did not.

But 1.0 was the better benchmark for how to make Rez work, as a god damn Ultimate
So find a new way to make it work as an ult without being mass rez that the non mercy players think is best used after a fight when the enemy have set up around you.

Whoah whoah hold on there. You’re implying that Mercy was a must-pick while she had mass resurrect, which was absolutely never the case. Mercy only became a must-pick immediately after the Valkyrie rework, when she could fly around chain healing everyone while instantly reviving up to four people over the course of the 20 second long ultimate.
Let’s not keep spreading the myth that mass res was OP. The statististics never supported that. Mass res just made some fowl streamer mad this one time, while a bunch of easily influenced people were watching.
Ok, maybe it was two streamers, but one of them is always mad at everything.

What planet do you live on where Mercy 1.0 as in original Mercy at game launch was even a good pick in competitive? Did you play the game back then?
It took huge buffs for Mercy after Ana’s release and then huge nerfs for Ana before Mercy ever became relevant in high level play, and even then she wasn’t anything close to a must-pick.

So a Moira/Zen combo would be equal to a Mercy 1.0/Zen combo in your eyes? Right now in comp?
Mercy 1.0 was a troll pick at high ranks, she was reworked for being “unfun”. Once she got reworked, she was OP and picked consistently which ended up in her getting 8 nerfs.

I agree with you 100%. That ult was stressful and I like doing the single rezzes way better.
All I want is for Mercy to be fun. You can make it any point 0 you want.
Sounds like a personal problem. I’ve had many people get mad at me for not single rezing whenever I could, yet I barely had problems when it was an ult. IN FACT, I got a lot more WOW GOOD REZ whereas now it’s more of an obligation that no one cares about.

That’s what I find funny people hated hide and res but when I played Mercy back then it was always my team telling me to do it.
The thing that made her 1.0 rez balanced for me was there was always a decent chance the enemy team would kill you before you casted it. Sometimes it worked out and felt amazing and sometimes it failed and sucked a bit.

I played Mercy. Ana was a joke in my eyes and she still is. Zen was too squishy. Lucio was too easy. Mercy made sense because I liked her active playstyle with good ult. Moira isn’t good right now and with her nerf she’s going to be worse. Mercy is a good healer stop trying to punish her for it.

Mercy back then was much under powered which allowed more people to run zen and lucio. Mercy now is too important not to have on your team.
I rather have old mercy that was underpowered and very fun than new mercy who is boring but a requirement.
