I mean the only reason nobody cares about the Junkenstein event anymore is because it’s been reused for 6 years. If this one is new, and doing something more interesting than that, then I’m looking forward to it.
I used to grind pve for lootboxes. I’m not sure i will play more than once for battle-pass. If it has talent system i could see me playing more than once.

Actually that’s the slot machines, there separate from the game floor.
(Literally everywhere else in the casino and beyond if possible.)
My man in the OP literally said there’s zero hype because no cosmetics. Not that he only has some hype. Or a little bit of hype. But ZERO HYPE. Which tells me he ONLY plays for cosmetics, which was the point of my question. Cosmetics are fun, not saying they’re not, but to be in it just for skins?

Yeah, if they’re playing just for the skins then there’s probably better stuff do to. Though if that’s the way they want to play (provided they aren’t like… throwing matches or anything to negatively impact other people’s playtime,) then that’s their prerogative.
But I know I have zero hype for the event too, and I still sometimes find myself enjoying a few matches when I’m grinding out weeklies. Even if there’s a good game buried in OW2, the monetization of it has left such a bad taste in my mouth that it ruins a lot of the other aspects of the game for me.
Also, I wasn’t originally going to get OW2 because I didn’t care for the PvE aspects of the game. Overwatch was one of the few games I didn’t really like the PvE in, and so I was planning on continuing to play Overwatch when OW2 came out.
So I don’t play for solely cosmetics, but I have absolutely no hype for the event whatsoever because the game mode (PvE) isn’t fun for me, and there are no rewards (cosmetics) to be had. If they enjoy the normal gameplay but don’t like the events for being PvE, it makes total sense to me that they’re not interested in the event.
It would be like someone that hated Lucio Ball not being excited for Lucio Ball being announced, with no rewards attached to playing that mode. If it interests you, that’s good. But I can at least see how someone could have no interest in a game mode that offers them no rewards, but still enjoy the normal gameplay.

let’s be honest. judging by how the devs have said over and over again that pve content will be delayed for years. and due to numerous complaints they are rushing to get this out… oh baby… imagine if they put all the effort they put into pushing “content” into actually balancing the game lol

They quite explicitly said the main thing they find hyped events is the skins.
Not every event has PVE stuff though does it. Most of the events don’t and therefor this is going to tell us whether or not future events will be purely a shop update and if they can’t hype their community up with one of the most loved events in the game with a new PVE mode, they are completely boned when it comes to the ones most don’t care about like Lunar New Year.
They showed in the Overwatch 2 trailer. This time you will get inside the castle to fight Sombra AKA Junkerstain’s bride.
So they basically made some aesthetic changes to an already created map section in the main game and added one new boss to fight?
I surely hope that is not the extend of this event’s ‘new content’.
If it is going to be horde mode for 5 minutes and then the doors open, kill some more bots and then fight the new boss, that is hardly a reimagined version of the original.

Don’t worry… I’m sure you’ll be able to unlock a spray and a name card for free. Anything resembling something for your actual character? Forget about it.

I am not hyped because they will probably just give us some stupid sticker and put all skins in the shop for 20 usd. OW1 was HYPE when new skins were released because you could grind them, this new system is greedy crap since they removed OW1 that we paid for and said GIVE US MORE MONEY!
