Experimental card for Bastion?

why he need nerf torbjörn:
deploy turret
genji deflect or mccree deadeye or moira damage orb
not effective for turret but effective in d.va mech
the turret health and damage very high for normal ability, it’s not an ultimate
sometimes if you behind a wall it will hit you
the turret can destroy shield faster

or turret becoming new torbjörn ultimate like ashe
b.o.b.

why he need nerf doomfist:
rocket punch
even when stopped by mccree flashbang/reinhardt charge
ana sleep dart/brigitte shield bash, rocket punch will give you damage.
or not effective
his passive: the best defense
gives him so much shield his not tank

Random Word Set

Although, most likely, you wanted to say that his rocket punch cannot be stopped by anything, but this is not so.

It all depends on what happened before - rocket punch touched you or not. For example, mccree flash has a time of use, while it does not respond to touching the enemy, so you need to throw it in advance, and not when the death fist is already in front of your nose.

If we talk about sleep - I never saw that ana flew into the wall, but at the same time put to sleep the doomfist. Purely theoretically this is possible, a typical bug like a hog hook

With regards to countercharge - they work properly, if you hit clearly on the fist of death - you both lie down, if you hit him on the side - you stop him, if he fell on the side - you fly off if you pressed too early - you will fly away. If you did everything perfectly but flew away anyway - make a correction for ping, this is a problem with all interactions in the game

Regarding the passive ability - this ability is not able to make a tank out of it. This is still a dps hero who ignores shields, quickly bursts into the enemy backline and flies out from there. He is countered by a team focus, under which he does not live even a second, unlike real tanks

Honestly on pc he’s not very good, nigh unplayable in higher ranks (kolorblind finds a way somehow), but on console he’s a menace in gold and below. I’ve been playing since launch on console, and he’s been a constant problem when for us console players. Now that there’s 3 barrier tanks for him to hide behind on longer sightlines, and lack of coordination with people not in chat (a very high percentage of matches, even in plat), it becomes hard to take him down. When they gave him the 300 rounds in turret form and tightened his spread, he started popping up more and more in competitive, usuallt piloted by those people who have 100+ hours on him or someone named “genjiisthiccc,” “NotASmurf,” “Throw4Dafran,” etc., only own 1 game (ps4) or have a super low gamerscore (xbox) the obvious smurfs, and are there to boost people through ranks.

This doesn’t even make any sense at all.

You’re saying that McCree, the biggest glass cannon around, doesn’t punish the Hammond hard enough with his stun and the 600 follow-up damage he does on top of cancelling all momentum and pile-driver?

This is my point. You think that the stun isn’t good enough by itself if the victim wasn’t destroyed completely without ever having a chance to act. Stuns should not be top dog like that.

Please try to make him an actual stance/transformation hero. I love the vibe in a hero game there is one of these hero types, but it just seems so lazy in finalization.

Heroes like Varian (HotS), Lei (Tekken), Gen (Street Fighter), Nidalee (League of Legends); they have an ability that changes how they move, attack, and even alter the effects of other abilities. Bastion feels like he was in spirit of that, while just missing it too.

Maybe repair had a special effect for recon and sentry?

Maybe dust off beta versions sentry for the ult in sentry and tank is for recon?

600 damage dedicated to using 12 shots from a combat roll and a stun. Meaning you have nothing else to use other than your aim to ward off any other threats waiting in the wings. You’re also forgetting that Wrecking Ball has his Adaptive Shields to keep him alive from that 600 damage follow-up which increase by 100 for each enemy near him.

Nerfing CC or specifically stuns too much are only going to make Doomfist and Wrecking Ball more insufferable unless they are also included on the CC nerf experiment.

This is the most vulnerable dps getting dived by the most independent tank, and you think it’s not ludicrous that the tank is 1 reload plus right click away from dying before it regains control?

Biggest problem I find playing Bastion is getting stuck in sentry. It takes too long to get your mobility back when you really need it. A roll while transforming back into recon would allow you to give up space when you need to. Time it correctly and you could dodge CC abilities by giving up your position.

If they would just make the configurations much faster, bastions hitbox smaller and buff his movement speed in recon mode that would make him pretty good. His hole theme is about chaning the modes in the right moment when its needed but right now he is just to clunky. But there are a lot of other ideas to.

Maybe both of you will like my these balance changes I made in this thread: 🤖 My Bastion Feedback

I would have put these here but too many people talking about CC nerfs.

Reduce hitbox sizes, add acceleration/deceleration mechanics and replace McCree’s stun with an actual blinder for flashbang - while you’re working on reducing CC.

Also - make Movement abilities capable of accelerating heroes by 50% of their max velocity, if we’re going that route.

As for Bastion

I’d just like to see him get a pseudo run ability for his Recon mode and if we’re feeling really risky - move him to a Tank position with 100 more HP. Faster transformation would be nice too.

Highest dps in game , lowest mobility.
That’s the trade off, not to mention lower skill so new players have a few options

He needs his entire design reworked if he’s going to get changes… because as long as his dps is incredibly high, they arnt going to just buff his hp/mobility just because.
That would absolutely break lower tier play

How about bringing back these for experimental

Personal shield with the 180° maximum rotation but now with the crit box, which he didnt have back then

Volley. Which was his old ultimate.

They could slightly decrease the immobility factor by making him transform faster.

I’d like to remind you that Reinhardt, Ana and McCree all have pretty powerful CC moves.

Not saying you’ll forget this or anything haha…

Thats really beautiful

Ok but I dont see how cc will help bastion. Bastion is in a terrible state right now I suggest you bring it up to the other devs. Truth is no one likes playing him and is considered a throw pick too unless you build an entire team comp that enables him. Also hope you dont nerf cc too hard like you did with the Widow nerf, I expect Cree and Mei to stay the same due to how underwhelming Mei is now and how cree’s stun is very balanced and counterable but the others handled hopefully.
