I’m just glad they nerfed the useless buffs they gave McCree, instead of anything else.
Thought they were going to nerf Fan, but this works too.

It depends on the “distance” between the top and second best DPS. If McCree were to just edge out, there would be less complaints.
The complaining worked! Good job forums and hats off to the devs! Praise Aaron!
The irony is that even OWL players have pointed out the parts of the heroes’ kits that are too strong, and the devs are still ignoring it. The last two Experimental Cards have garnered so much criticism from the OWL players.
True but many people believe his state before the nerf on this patch was just barely better that other dps.
I guess the players who predicted only minor nerfs for Mccree are right.
TBF, they’re not wrong.
May Melee proves that as Dallas, without McCree, managed to win handily by using polished tactics while other teams were straight up doubling down on him.
Granted, tracer domination was also seen quite strong in the dallas setup but that’s a whole different can of worms there.
good changes apart from the McCree one. DECREASE HIS FRLASHBANG RADIUS NOT HIS ROLL XDDD
To be fair, we’re almost halfway through the year, and almost all the changes over that time have been pretty meh
This was exactly the way to nerf McCree. People don’t realize that tiny incremental buffs add up over time to make something overtuned. His roll and reload time didn’t seem super impactful at first but combined with all the other things they make him OP. Scaling these back is a nice anti-powercreep buff and still keeps him strong in a reasonable way. We don’t need to dumpster things, that’s just a vicious cycle.
Overall, very, VERY happy about this ExC. I hope it all goes live.
“Much of McCree’s recent success can be attributed to his increased maximum health”
So whats the logical thing to do?
But the trick is, it’s basically acting like ladder balance doesn’t matter.
Lmao these changes are a joke. 0.3s longer charge time on Exo boots? Slightly longer reload time for Cree? And shorter combat roll? These are useless af, other heroes got nerfed harder for less.
And that Moira change. I struggle to think of a more useless change than this one. No wait, I already listed three lol. At least Reaper got something.
Yes, kind of?
They did say they’re focusing on OWL viewability balance first rather than ladder. I don’t agree with that angle but that’s what they pointed out.
I’ll take any McCree nerfs and I’m glad they’re rolling back some of the buffs.
It’s just their notes that piss me off, honestly. “We know X made this hero super strong and it’s a little much, so we’re nerfing Y”.
Like, that logic is weird. IT’S WEIRD. They did that with Rein.
Surprised they nerfed Zarya. I’m surprised they buffed Reaper (but that is wholly welcome). Surprised they nerfed Bap’s exo boots when everyone, including pro players, complained about his free AoE heals and immortality field.
We’ll see.
Just…I can’t take them seriously with the last patch and how much of a disconnected clownfest that was, and this one isn’t that much better. They couldn’t even get the date right on it, which I know is a small detail, but lends to the, “y’all doing the least” vibe I’m getting from them lately.
To be fair, that means less potential to roll at somebody, flash, fan.
And it probably makes it so he can’t roll out of Winston Primary Fire range.
Yeah…considering the flashbang has 7m max range, and the roll changed from 7.2 to 5.67…it’s something, but not dramatic.
Blah, pro flanker patch.
No orisa buff tho…
Not too bap he still has his ultimate ability on 25 second cool down and blizzard is like make him jump less do you think that is a good job but am happy about the mccree nerf because I hate him
And? This doesn’t address his overtuned state at all. It’s like that fall-off introduction to DF’s primary fire, or giving Widow’s primary fall-off, or decreasing Zen’s orbs speed by what, 0.05s?
Like I said, other heroes got nerfed harder for less. This ExC should have had nuke-from-the-orbit nerfs to a hero this dominant. Instead it’s typical Blizzard balancing - slap on the wrist until the problem goes out of control.
I called this nerfs. They are the ones that make sense. The problem is that some people dont really understand the hero, so they believe other things are the issue when they arent.
