Because you don’t need to copy an Echo as Echo to get Echo’s ability.
All you’ve gained is faster ult charge which you wasted a completely charged ult to obtain in the first place.
If you copy a non-Echo hero after copying Echo first, you get less time on the non-Echo hero than you would have if you just copied that non-Echo hero in the first place…reason being you spent a few seconds charging another ult, which ate into your duplicate duration.

Echo’s kit isn’t inherently weaker than any other Hero’s. Her Ult’s strength, like I’ve already said isn’t “I get to stop playing as Echo”, it’s the situational benefit to being the other hero combined with the increased Ult charge (easily substitutetable for another benefit as and Echo copy) and the two full heals you get.

Not only are you implying that you, as a player, are being forced to do this supposed waste of ult, but you’re also saying that 2: Echo ult would be enabled in Echo’s copy state, 3: that the transformation time wouldn’t refresh when copying a second time, 4: that there’s no benefit to the multiple full-HP heals that the ult gives and/or 5: that the Ult while ulting would somehow maintain your HP-- at least I dearly hope the absurd jump in logic for point 5 is there, because otherwise you are typing ABSOLUTE nonsense instead of just being wrong lol

Actually I forgot about her getting a second life through copy, so that’s probably the actual reason that one can’t copy Echo. Still, you would need the enemy Echo alive to constantly get the additional lives. Possible but not probable.
But aside from that, there is no reason to copy an Echo.
No I was just giving possible reasons why devs made it so Echo can’t copy Echo.
No reason to think Echo’s ult wouldn’t be enabled since ults on other heroes are all enabled in copy state
If you copy a Winston and get ult at 8 seconds into the duplicate duration, and then you ult, you don’t get to stay as a mad monkey for 10 seconds, you get to use primal rage for 7 seconds and you revert back to Echo. So there’s no reason to think Echo’s duplicate duration would be refreshed after copying an Echo.

Clonar a un personaje solo puede garantizarte una vida de más, dos como mucho si tienes en cuenta a Dva. Clonar a Echo puede garantizarte poder obtener suficiente tiempo para obtener multiples vidas y sobrevivir durante la duración de la habilidad.
No estoy hablando de que haya un bucle infinito sino de que un Echo clonando a otro obtendría demasiado rápido su carga de habilidad definitiva como para noquearlo.

Well… You only have to think what could happen if an echo ults another echo. You are again (or still) echo and you have tons of ult recovery, so you have to wait untill you ult is up again (quick but waste of time) and ult another hero or make a new loop with the enemy echo… which only will grant you a life to spend (due to her skill to die with an ult and turn back to her state before the ult).
So, in resume, It will only be a wate of time and maybe a life to spend without being killed… exploitable and an unnecessary loop.
Well sorry, that was kinda rude for my part.
I will explain my point:
1.Echo copies Echo, enemy Echo cant switch until the ult finishes.
2.Echo gains ult faster and copies another character(Gengi), now enemy Gengi cant swich.
3.Echo(As gengi) gets killed and returns as echo(Still the first copy).
4.Echo(Copied) gets ult again fast and copies gengi again.
In this scenario Echo could use her ultimate, copy an echo, copy a gengi, go to the enemy healers, kill them as gengi or as copied Echo and run.
This is not an infinite loop, this is a very exploitable escenario where a copied echo can gain a lot of copies and survive a teamfight where she is always getting shut down.
