I’m fairly certain most of my pc friends won’t care, they’re cool dudes, but it will absolutely bother me that I’m way worse while playing with them than I should be. Also not being able to use my mains (all hitscans) will make the game far less enjoyable for me.
I was T500 on Ps4 and Aim Assist shouldnt ever be used against PC players.
Aim Assist works a bit more in Battle Royales like Apex and Fortnite, but those games rarely ever have overlapping issues - not to mention that the Aim Assist in those games is incredibly softer than it is in OW.
The Aim Assist in Overwatch is SO strong in comparison to other games. It’s absolutely no wonder why it isn’t allowed and why even XIM users use it despite it traditionally being bad on the device.
While I agree no Aim Assist on controller makes it literally unplayable for Dps mains, it would be unfair to PC players honestly. It’s like glue, it just sticks to you, and if you get an actual good sensitivity figured out, you would destroy M+KB users.
Console players on average have higher accuracy than PC players. Now you can see why Aim Assist isn’t allowed in Cross-Play.
I saw someone say that console on average has higher accuracy than PC does, so it should at least be toned a bit down. I don’t think it should be gone all the way.
Console to PC crossplay won’t be available on competitive so i don’t really care what they do about it they can even give console players aimlock it’s qp.
Ofc for hitscans mnk is 100 times bigger advantage than console aim assist. But I’m worried about beams, and tracer. On the game called “Spellbreak” controller players were dominating everyone with the “weapon” that requires tracking with huge dps. It was impossible to play against, aim assist gave them perfect tracking. So I just deleted the game.
So they need to be careful with tracking on aim assist to not make it OP. I have never tried ow’s console version
M+K players have extreme egos and will blame their deaths on aim assist if they get beaten by a console player. Turning it off is the only way for them to feel good about themselves
There’s a fairly decent list of people you can play even with subpar aim. Junk, Torb, Sym, Doom, Mei, Mercy, Lucio, Brig, Moira, and most tanks. They should all be doable without a mouse and keyboard.
This will definitely open up the game for console players. The only time they’ll ever have to worry about PC players in their games is if they go out of their way to group with friends on PC. Otherwise, the only difference now is that PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch players can all play together.
Are you kidding me? If they left aim assist yeah it would open the game but for most console players this is gonna feel awful and restrict DPS, the most populated role as you may be aware
It’d be like if they locked in your sens at a random number that prevents flicks and fast turns to make you “even” with console players. And you know PC players would be livid over that. So why remove our ability to play our favorites comfortably?
They haven’t removed your ability. You’ll still be able to play the game as you’ve been playing it. So long as you don’t group with a PC player, you’ll be placed in an all-console game and retain the aim assist that you’ve already got.
All this change did was add an additional way to play the game. It is kind of a bummer that the hero pool will be more limited for some when playing in PC games (although I’m sure some folks will still get on just fine with their controllers). But at the moment, the available hero pool for console players in PC games is 0. With this change, even if there’s only a single hero you feel able to play, you’ll still have that one option on top of all the options you have today in all-console play.

Remember that there is no bus Blizzard won’t through the console players under to placate even the most ridiculous complaints of PC players
I know I’ll have aim assist in non-PC games, which is great! I just wish I wouldn’t lose it in those games where I want to play with my PC friends because frankly they could’ve lowered the strength and I’d be fine with it
Having a drastic change to your controls is not enjoyable, and frankly pointless as it’s Quickplay. Just let me play how I normally play is all I ask
Then give PC players aim assist
As a console player, I’m ok with it. Aiming isn’t nearly the most important thing in this game and aim smoothing hurts in more situations than it helps. Most FPS games aren’t team fight situations so it’s fine for those but multiple targets moving across your crosshairs can really screw you over in this one.
Aim assist itself is bullshxt, if you need aim assist for a game to work it is bad design for the targeted platform.
but it just isnt though mate
“But it’s legal aimbot”
To anyone who thinks this, you have never played on a console in your life. Please don’t talk about something you’re uneducated on.
Removing aim assist when playing against PC players is a horrible decision, PC players already have a massive advantage in what type of controller they have (or technically a lack of a controller lol)
It’s literally almost an aimbot go into the training grounds and max it out, it’s insane how much it does.
Tracking weapons with aim assist would be absolutely broken against PC-players.
Also XIM makes it so people can use mouse and keyboard and still get aim-assist.
it mostly messes with ana from what i hear, since it tries to aim for teammates and enemies at the same time, making it a bit wack
the only exposure i have to aim assist is botw’s autoaim upon drawing a bow where it’ll align to a bodyshot upon drawing, which i turned off anyways because it often got me killed while hunting lynels since i needed an immediate headshot to stun them and it’ll actively move your crosshair away from the head regardless
im personally not too worried since i havent taken comp seriously since like s17 and one tricked sigma to masters on a new account, which was my goal anyways
i mostly play to meme and relax these days
Any kind of aim assist with or against PC players is going to kill the game for us.
It’s stupid and frankly not fair.
Also it’s not like console players can’t use mouse and keyboards, or even the gyros in their controllers.
