Does overwatch make you more stressed?

this isnt a dig at overwatch but more at online video games in general, i was actually thinking about this with apex legends but obviously overwatch is a game which gets compared to apex more.

i am thinking i am giving up all online video games for a while because i been playing a lot of mass effect and i just feel so less stressed, dont get me wrong i still have a massive interest in both apex and overwatch but i just want to be able to relax

i am curious if others find it stressful too or if its just me and others are able to relax with overwatch(maybe you can relax with friends but i used to solo queue)

Yh, it’s been making me consider quitting tbh

I just uninstalled the game. Hopefully it stays that why for a while. The Overwatch community makes me mentally insane and if I talk smack about the dev team I’ll get banned.

Good for you mate

funnily enough, overwatch does relax me, or maybe, it doesn’t. It just distracts me.

This works exceptionally well when I’m feeling anxious about something I shouldn’t be worrying about, or sad, or even physically ill. I’m already at high speed mind, and Overwatch takes me to an even higher pace, where I can’t think of anything else.

It has done wonders for my mental health, many times, and that’s why I like the game a lot.

i think my issue is i focus on target’s, like in overwatch i wanted to hit plat(lucky i did but i was mostly gold) in apex i want to hit a specific amount of kills in a specific amount of matches and i get stressed that i wont reach that goal) so maybe a lot of that is my own fault and i would be less stressed without setting those goals

with games like mass effect i can just relax and take the game at my own pace, some of the fights might be stressful at times when swarmed by enemies but i can always turn the difficulty down but i know overwatch did wonders for my mental health for a long time(apart from one where FOMO made my obsessive thoughts get bad) but right now i just need less stress so maybe later it will be good for me

Sometimes. I love competitive games but I also get stressed. I have more hours on QP than comp, but from the moment I was able to play comp in Valorant I never played unranked again. Losing streaks stress me out, and going down in rank is the worst feeling. Overall there are moments or periods of time that I take comp as is and enjoy myself win or lose in Overwatch, but the stable feeling of consequence free QP is always appealing.

Overwatch is definitely the most stressful game I play, which is saying something because literally no other game makes me even remotely stressed.

That said, it’s also the most satisfying game I play. Seeing my hard work pay off feels great.

More just sad. Each time I play it I think of how much great potential this game had in the industry but they blew their chance over and over.

with the balance team not knowing how to balance properly and them stopped balancing around the community just really killed it for me tbh, i remember when a ton of people including content creators said “this is the most balanced state OW has ever been in”.

I mostly just play during events for the limited time skins. Who needs an enjoyable game when you’ve got artificial scarcity?

When I try hard and focus on winning, yes, I get very stressed and every loss or even close game makes me tilt. But it doesn’t stress me out when I stop caring about winning and my goal is just to have fun.

No other game has made me as angry & stressed as OW, not even dark souls back in the day.

I used to play daily, but this week I haven’t been playing that much.

Overwatch makes me disappointed, rather then stressed. Too many things to ruin my efforts, that I can not change.

It’s only stressful if you make it stressful. Just turn off vc and text chat. Stop caring about winning, but still try your best. And just have fun.

Occasionally, yes.

I’ve had worse on other games in the past, but they often had non-PvP modes I could turn to to simmer down on. PvE will be a very welcome addition to OW.

I don’t think it makes me stressed, I’d say angry.

Nah. I think people who get stressed over this game haven’t experienced real stressful situations with actual, real life consequences on the line.

QP or arcade mode are 1000% less stressful than Comp. PvE is even less stressful than QP. If you still want to play stick with those modes

I play OW during the weekends to relax after a long week at work but all it does is stress me even more. At the end of the day it is a competitive shooter so its not something that is meant to relax you.
