Does Blizzard care about the console versions?

Because it sure doesn’t feel like they do. Five months ago, for instance, Jeff posted they would do something about M&K usage on console. And, so far… Nothing! I get that this stuff takes time, but at least talk to us, show that you (Blizzard) care

Simple answer:

No…

They can’t stop players using M&K. That’s not their decision to make. Ultimately if console developers are happy to support a certain type of controller (which Sony have their Tac Pro now, so they are) then Blizzard have to adhere to their rules. They can’t stop players from using certain controller types.

I agree. But then they should natively support, so everyone could use M&K without an adapter. It’s easy!

I dunno dude, I don’t think Blizz can do a lot about mouse users on console. And to be honest, it’s not that big a deal since there are so few of those players on console. Mouse users on console don’t have the full options and sensitivities that PC players do, like a 1:1 input. I was playing free for all yesterday and saw a guy on widowmaker using a mouse. He was tracking on high sensitivity better than I’d ever seen anyone on console, and it seemed unfair. But that was like 3 games out of all my free for all games so I guess it doesn’t matter much

I think the reason they don’t want to is because for many players, M&K simply isn’t accessable or practical. I totally agree they should support it but I can understand why they’re adament about not officially doing so. They want to keep the game feeling fair for controller players

I understand this reasoning, but this reasoning is bullsh*t. Mouse users are there already, and they are a big chunk of the top players on console. If you can’t get rid of them, there’s only one option left!

Try again. That’s Blizzard’s choice; not Sony or Microsoft’s. I’ve already asked Sony about this very thing; developers are the ones who take care of that kind of thing directly, and there’s no control from Sony’s end.

As for Microsoft, they empower the developers to manage their game how they want to.

Feel free to interpret things as you wish; but this argument of “that’s not Blizzard’s decision to make” needs to be put to rest, because that is simply not the case.

I tried console for the first hundred hours. I am so glad I got off it.

Thanks, that really added to the discussion!

The console version was just a quick cash grab.

Their next big thing is banning accounts based on an automated report system to sell smurf accounts and brag about 40 million copies sold.

Sure it feels like it. But it’s sad, because we console gamers love this game just as much as any PC gamer.
