Disconnected from Game Server Frequently

I CAN ONLY PLAY IN 5 MINUTE INCREMENTS BEFORE GETTING DISCONNECTED

I was a huge Overwatch player on console and decided to upgrade my setup to PC this month!
I have a new PC with a decent graphics card and processor, all my drivers are up to date and I am running on a very fast wifi speed (working on getting a wired connection soon).
Despite this, I get kicked from the server every 5-10 minutes unexpectedly.

This means I am able to queue up and enjoy the fast-paced action of OW2… but every 5 minutes I get a message that says “LOST CONNECTION TO GAME SERVER”"…
I am completely ejected from my match and returned to the login dashboard. It prompts me to log in but logging in will result in either an infinite load screen or an error.

The only way to fix this is by closing my game and reopening it (buying me about 5 more minutes of play time)…
I have done every troubleshooting measure listed in the Battle.net FAQ but regardless of whatever I do, my friends continue in a match without me while I have to stare at the login screen.

My only guess is that it has something to do with WiFi stability and not speed. I hypothesize that if my connection dips it throws me of the server instead of allowing for a little bit of lag (which I have experienced no lag so far). However this seems to go beyond my internet connection.

This is very frustrating and results in me receiving a -75% XP penalty for a bug I can do nothing about. I have asked about a dozen of my friends who play Overwatch and no one can explain why this happens.

Please help Blizzard. Why does this only seem to be me? It saddens me that I am left out of the game I built an entire PC set up for.

The same thing happens to me on console. It seems every time i get an achievement i get disconnected and can’t reconnect until after the match has finished. I’m constantly getting penalized for something that is outta my control. Please help me Blizzard

Just got an Ethernet connection and this is still happening

For me it’s after 2-4 games in, as soon as I select my character my ping shoots up to 300ms from 60 stable and and the rest of the players seem unresponsive. I close game to log back in and rejoin but it’s either LC-208 or I can’t rejoin.

I keep getting hit with penalties especially because I’m playing competitive.

Same dude! Very bizarre. Sometimes I get kicked from the game servers within 2 minutes of logging in.

I’ve been having the same issue since the 13th. I’ve only been able to play the game in 4 minute increments until I’m booted to the title screen with “lost connection to game server” in red letters taunting me. It seems blizzard has yet to even speak up about this issue.

Blizzard its literally your fault for players like me getting kicked out of games when our internet is fine and everything. Fix your stupid servers and games making us the players suffer for your MISTAKES!

I am having the same issue as well! 2-5 mins after logging in and “Server lost connection” and log back in or exit to desktop. Blizzard and Actiivision are in a bad way in 2024 but! This is a failure to deliver services which is a breach of the EULA and TOS between the end user and the developer. This is something if we all go together on could lead to a massive law suit against Activision/Blizzard as i’m having the exact same issue with Call Of Duty as well!

This isn’t only related to Overwatch 2 now. Does anyone have any kind of FIX as nothing on the net is of any use at all. P.s I’m running Windows 11. Does that have something to do with it?

This issue has been plaguing me for the past 2 weeks and I have tried EVERYTHING a person can do to fix this issue on the customer side. Sign in, play 5-10 minutes without any lag of any sort, abruptly disconnect from the game server, be brought to the login screen, sign in, wait for the sign in process, join back into main screen, can’t join back in match because it took too long, get penalized for leaving early, join a custom game, 5 minutes in be brought back to the login due to “lost connection to game server” I spoke with microsoft tech support to try and fix it on my end… no luck, they suggest contacting blizzard customer service, which has yet to respond for over 3 hrs now. Honestly this company has taken a massive downward spiral since activision took over.
