Wait, WTF does it mean by new formats? We want 2-2-2, not some 1-3-2 or 1-4-1 crap.

Great to see this update on 6v6!

Will we get overwatch on Xbox Cloud Gaming anytime soon?

Fun this should be spicy.

That said, I don’t really see any 6v6 Open Queue with Role Limits format working unless it’s one of these:

  • 2-6-2 - i.e. If the team comp isn’t great, then everybody has equal responsibility and obligation to swap. Which may reduce social toxicity (And would almost be needed in Quickplay to prevent drops.)
  • 2-4-2 - With this, at least you got 2 players that are on “Not DPS”, which will usually be 1-4-1, which was a very common composition in OW1.

But regardless, it has to be some version of 2-SOMETHING-2.
Or else it will be GOATs.
And that kinda defeats the purpose of having Role Limits.

Like for real

  • 3-1-2 with Mei = Basically GOATs

  • 2-1-3 with Mei = Basically GOATs

  • 2-?-2 with Mei = Not GOATs

That said, I am kinda curious how 5v5 Open with Role Limits, with 1-5-2 would perform.

Since, back in 2019, I kinda thought that’s what would have happened instead of Role Queue.

Not sure why you want to try 2-2-2 after using the objectively right answer(“open” role lock), but other than that

6v6 should be based upon those before S9 at least, better upon OW1 and all the OW1 tanks should be like in OW1.(Simple -150HP doesn’t work as we saw in QPC.) I’m excited how the new tanks would be balanced in this case.

You´re complaining about more variety in how to form your team? With this method it would be possible to build teams with different combinations of roles.

I thought it’d be like 1-3-2 role queue, I didn’t know there’d be looser restrictions in match.

Sooner than I was expecting given the last blog on the topic, but I’m anticipating disastrous performance on older platforms. There are clear issues with how the game and netcode are running that have gotten tangibly worse this season and tend to be far more apparent in extra modes like Junkenstein’s Lab.

There better be some engine or server improvements coming soon.

We want to go back to 6vs6 ow1

OW2 Playing is boring with 5vs5
Full counter pick

I don’t want my monitor to cry anymore than it already does.
And that would be like, buckets.

bro why are you complaining, this will fix queue times, and min 1 max 3 is such a good idea, more creativity, more fun, better gameplay for tanks

with the min 1 max 3 format make a prefer q function, every time you go in a game there will be atleast 1 player who prefered to play each role

All of this combined with Junkenstein Laboratory sounds like the natural evolution of Overwatch we should have got back in 2022, I’m super excited to see how ‘Kingmaker’ performs in the game, the 2 tanks in 5v5, and the coexistence of 5v5 and 6v6 are also a great direction for the game imo

These look very promising
I am especially excited for “Kingmaker”

I like the sound of the Kingmaker mode but my concern is that it’d feel bad to be doing well w/ buffs, then a teammate swaps to your role so you lose them.

Hopefully losing the buffed status should have a ramp down or 10-20 second warning timer, since if your teammate just swapped, they’re in spawn, so them being your role isn’t actually contributing anything anyways until they get to the fight.
