But we’re talking about other features that will make it easier for players to work together as a team. Party Frames is one of these - these are the on-screen player health indicators that we use for our PvE events. Other possible features such as backfill improvements, changes to our scoreboard, and ways to mitigate spawn camping also align with this. To show the extent of our discussions, even an ally-only mini-map feature was discussed. Some of these systems are under discussion and some are in development. I don’t think a mini-map has a high likelihood of shipping, but I do think that Party Frames are likely.
I’ve wanted party frames in PvP for, ooo, around seven years now. Thanks, devs.
Does this mean I get to play dps Moira even more?
Haha silly goose. You think they’ll actually nerf supports
im kinda worried about this really, changing the game so much will create new problems. especially with balance, spawning teammates together and such it seems they want a goats meta again or heroes with high sustain so nothing dies lol…
when developers really listen to the playerbase then thats when i worry, not these devs but the same thing happened to world of warcraft. so watered down its a shell of its former self… just because of listening to the playerbase
if they want a more care bear atmosphere then they should have sticked with pve and phased out the pvp. people lose and lose badly, stomps happen and there are better players that outperform other players. no need to nerf all this, its a “competitive” game and your feelings will get hurt…heh
Already had finished my weekly challenges before the quicker play introduction but I don’t feel motivated enough to try it out, like there is no reward involved in playing your new gimmick, so I’m just not going to bother getting back into the game until next reset. Good luck with your data gathering.
burning down everything that makes Overwatch - Overwatch. Very cool. No niche game play, just slight variations of CoDs and other games
Everything is already unkillable and you guys wanna give Tank and DPS a healing passive AND reduce damage spikes?
the party icons are great idea
but that self heal doesnt help the issue with support. whats the point of support? the roles are being blurred and now support is gonna dps more because of this as now dps are mini supports.
you play for the roles but whats the point of even playing support as a support if ur gonna just throw the identity away. also making it less of a team game as now ppl can play less as a team. also the fact supports like mercy that dont do direct damange will just be nullified.
i swear for you to solidify the support role instead of making it blurry and useless. PLEASE DONT PUT HEAL PASSIVES ON EVERYONE
HUGE WIN!
Being able to see your teams health bars/see who’s dead with on screen party frames is AWESOME! I’ve been wanting this feature for a long time.
I don’t think people understand how impactful this will be (in a really, REALLY good way). It’s going to make it so much easier for tanks to have team awareness, make it easier to keep track of your teams health as a support, and help DPS stop throwing out their ults 1v5 after their team is already dead (HEY! Let a guy dream with that last one Ok).
I know. I hope they consider reverting back to whatever passive Mercy had before she got the Sympathetic Recovery. That passive has been bad since they removed the triage thing a few seasons ago, and should be replaced. That and the GA without the penalty for using her techs. And I agree that Ana, Bap and Kiri are much bigger problems for the game than Mercy.
this was already addressed at blizzcon - you should be able to find a youtube video of it
This all sounds positive. I’m very excited to try out season 9. It’s good that the game is getting refreshed every now and then and that the devs are open to mixing things up and responding to feedback. I’m already enjoying the quicker play changes!
That said, I think there’s still a good deal of work to do on the monetisation of the game but from a gameplay point of view it’s all pretty positive.
this is really a good step for the game
I’m wondering if the idea is that non-supports can stay in team fights more often if they don’t have to go grab health packs. Of course, sometimes they don’t have to and go for them anyway while I’m already chasing and trying to heal them as they run away from me…
No you don’t lmao. Mercy is currently the second most picked support and is played at all levels.
She outputs insane value for how easy she is to the point where playing anyone else is almost pointless. You absolutely do not have the right to complain. You need peeling from other supports? Lmfao try playing Zen, try playing a hero who doesn’t have mobility every 3 seconds. “Mercy” and “too hard to play” are oxymorons. You simply do not get an easier kit than hers and you don’t even realise how easy she is because you probably don’t bother playing any other hero.
2-2-2 makes team-play easier by having a 2nd Tank on the team to allow your DPS & Supports more freedom in their positioning without being vulnerable.
Having a 2nd Tank per team also improves the feel of team play Tank players have, because they will have a Tank buddy to help take pressure off of them.
I was more curious about the “economy” aspect of the game to be perfectly honest, but it is hilarious that they are overhauling the game based on how garbage support players are.
yeah it didn’t take.
thats a you problem then.
We already know that the “mini event pass” is a thing now. Pay 5 bucks for premium event pass then pay another 20 bucks to buy “event bundle” where you can earn additional event tickets.
And more Legendary recolors with 15-20 bucks price tags each.
The “economy” aspect of the game is looking grim already.
