Director’s Take – Reflecting on the future of Overwatch 2

at least the apologize seems sincere and not just “we are sorry that you feel dissapointed”

lol I’m not “morally good”? haha chill dude, seriously

What I’m doing is called “picking your battles”. I’m choosing what and what not to be upset about… this PvE being cancelled stuff is barely on my radar with what I have going on in my life and you’re telling me I’m a bad person for that? :joy:

Also, I didn’t shame you at all… I told you to not worry about it haha, you’re the one who started in with the “you’re morally wrong” stuff haha

You’re clearly very passionate about this and perhaps reading too much into what I said so just let it go man, there are larger battles here for you to fight, I’m not interested :dove:

It’s sad to see a company burn a huge amount of goodwill like this.

I applaud your initiative, if more players had that attitude (especially for Diablo immortal), Blizzard would certainly be acting way differently.

The poop was swiped across the players’ lips.

Well, I’ve been mulling how I felt about this whole bait and switch that was Overwatch 2. The PvE was really the biggest game I had been waiting for the past year at least. I kept telling my non-overwatch friends about how great it could be and was excited to finally be getting some sort of idea of what we would be getting sometime this summer. Now we see they sold us OW2 as early access till the PvE dropped, but actually knew the whole time the PvE wasn’t anything near the scope that they had initially sold us. So I think its time to take this whole thing as an obvious moment to exit the game. Finally a good reason to leave. This feels like an obvious bookend to an era. I was there at launch, and have played almost every season. Maybe they’ll make something good with the new PvE, but at this point you can’t trust a thing they say.

C’yah dudes, its been real.

I appreciate that they have had the courage to tell us that everything they have promised has been cancelled, and I also appreciate the work done by team 4, managers, etc. But this does not justify the 3 years that we were waiting for the PvE they promised us, since OW 1 we have been waiting for something like this, a story, and above all something different to PvP, and not the same thing they did in OW 1, which was some missions that are done in 10 minutes and already, missions that could only be played on some specific days, and then could not be played again. Being a player of OW 1, absolutely nothing has changed the dynamics they have had in all these years, and that’s why people are upset, because it has not changed absolutely nothing of what they offer us, being blizzard one of the companies that have that name of doing things well and complete. Anyway thank you very much to the OW team for everything, but this is already absurd.

I’m convinced they put more time into this post than on PvE the last couple of months

Lets be honest they through this in an AI chatbox to make a sad attempt at an apology while putting 80% of their focus on milking the playerbase through the BP and FOMO store

maybe here’s some idea, just release the PvE when it’s done. or release it as a beta now and just keep updating/adding it until it finished (atleast it is better than just outright cancel it). stop justifying your lack of conscious for the fanbase by adding them as a battle pass tie in, you guys just mocking the fanbase at this point. and we don’t appreciate it.

we basically waited 4 years for nothing, it all just an empty promises. we justify overwatch 2 existence because we are looking forward for the PvE. and now that is gone, this game is basically a scam.

I feel for you, it’s such a shame. After all these years, I can’t get myself to start the game again. I rewatched a few cinematics earlier, almost shed a tear. It’s just… I don’t get how you can have such a jem in your hands and destroy it like this.

Constant talk of the good of “the future of Overwatch”, as always. But nothing ever comes. There is no good, just empty promises.

It’s so Joever Overwatch bros :-1:

i know but i dont know if gaining sympathy will be that easy

Well, one improvement would be to not hold that information back for month (or possibly even over a year?) and simply get it over with.
