I was hoping this would amount to something. I seen Jared’s post on twitter and thought maybe this “Historical context” would make me understand why the choice was made. It did not It was just a really long way of saying what was said a few days ago and stories we’ve heard from even before OW1 released.

Nothing new was added here, It honestly breaks my heart and hurts my mind to see this company that I’ve spent 18 years playing Blizzard games. I started with WoW, I even tried SC and I would of tried Diablo but I come from a religious family and my mother didn’t want me playing it. I’ve now played every Blizzard game that has released outside of the games prior to WoW. It hurts my heart and mind to realize I will no longer have moments like the memories I had when I was younger enjoying Blizzard games when they could do no wrong. Now its just fumble, controversy intertwined.

Nobody thinks of Blizzard in good light anymore. Anytime Blizzard is brought up its all about controversy or how they messed up again. This is just another notch on the long belt of mistakes.

I can no longer trust Blizzard to deliver on anything they say. I know I fell for the marketing. I know I am a fool for that and as a customer/player I should never be made to feel that way. I am the priority just like my fellow players are. You need us to make the money you are so hungry for. Try to remember that without us you don’t get the latter. I know you all worked hard on what you did build and I do feel sorry for those of you who worked namelessly for hours and days and years on end. Just for it mean nothing. Just don’t forget we were also playing for hours and years without anything new. We held out hope that the PVE would be worth it, That it would revitalize the game we cared so much for just for it to also mean nothing.

What annoys me more then anything is YOU knew! You freaking knew! Before OW 2 launched that it would not be what we were shown years ago. I know stuff changes over the course of development but you should of said so but you didn’t. You hid behind the idea that was given to us at OW2’s reveal. For that I will never forgive you any of you. I know that means nothing to you just like we never meant anything to you.

iirc there also have been rumors that the higher-ups wanted to turn Overwatch 1 into this predatory mess and cashgrab and Jeff was fully against it so he had to get rid off to make it happen

Kaplan’s team in 2016 was less than 100 people, because it was a failed project. So they have almost 300 people working on OW2.

In contrast, Call of Duty has 10 times that number.

Over 3000 people are working on Call of Duty, says Activision - GamesRadar Over 3,000 people are working on Call of Duty, says Activision | GamesRadar+

They realized they would have to write actual dialogue for their one note ESG bait characters and immediately gave up lol lmao even

How do you expect us to believe any of this until we see it? Your “roadmap” is just a “maybe”. This team cannot be trusted.

Brings up a LOT of questions then

You can say it however you want. But the fact is you as a company promised a feature, a CORE feature that people paid for to support, that you never delivered on.
That is no different than paying someone to mow your lawn then they skip town.

Just so we are clear, I paid for the PvE early on during the Overwatch 2 beta, and I do not see anyone getting refunds. We were promised PvE and now in hindsight, I just bought a glorified battle pass and early access when I was mainly sold on the PvE which is what the idea of overwatch was supposed to be. However, now we are just progressing into more PvP buffs and nerfs that hardly affect the game, and scrapping 3 and a half years of work, therefore nullifying all of that work to make more mediocre patches and make “PvE” missions that will basically be like the ones from the anniversary events in Overwatch 1. We are dancing in circles and going nowhere blizzard.

All you have to know is that Team 4 has ALWAYS been the smallest team at Blizzard, and that while they were developing the sequel to a billion dollar IP, they had devs pulled off no less than three times. Once to help finish DragonFlight, once to help the CoD team that has about half of Acti’s staff working on it already, and former dev Tracy Walker has also cited unnamed projects that Team 4 devs were pulled off of OW2 development to work on by Bobby Kotick. Those projects were later scrapped.

Really, it’s all about Activision being cheap and cutting corners, and removing a director in Kaplan and replacing him with a butler in Keller.

The least you could do to apologize would be to give us back OW1, the game we payed for and loved.

Game’s dead. OW2 is already a downgraded version of OW1, and now no PvE? What have you been doing for the last 4 years?? Thinking of ways to make the game worse and make battle pass??
At least give us back OW1.

I’m disappointed in this I love this game but I was excited for something new that would bring more life into the characters that pve showcase had me hooked but dang it’s gone now

Just delete the game, refund everything and everybody can move on. If you can’t develop a game, don’t even try.

ok im just gonna throw in my 2 cents
so they have some stuff because we have seen gameplay footage and a whole level get played by streamers so why not just give us that at least and then do updates to it when they are ready then you get more time and we get the experience we want just like genshin impact which is a story based game that gets updated because it is incomplete
