Did Ashe was removed?

Greetings,

Signed in to the game just for realize Ashe from the holiday artwork in home menu, was removed.

Disappointed, because I remember one year ago when the official artwork was revealed, the community and Ashe mains were hyped for that Ashe skin.

I don’t understand why it was removed and blizzard could have made good money, if they had released the skin for this holiday season.

Perhaps it might be a available until Holidays 2024… Or maybe it was just an illusion that lasted for one year.

I’m Mercy main and I prefer to buy that Ashe skin, because Ashe does not have a holiday skin. (The blue recolored, does not count as a holiday skin)

Meanwhile Mercy has already 3 holiday skins: sugar plum, blue recolored and currently the new one. And mercy will get a new skin for lunar year …c’mon blizzard get Ashe mains some love!

Either way Season greetings Ashe mains, may your holidays be filled out with lots of GG.

My guess is that they don’t wanted to take away the spotlight from Mercy with a character who haven’t got a skin.

But they should’ve removed B.O.B as well though then.

Poe’s law is strong with that one, blizzard has already set a precedent of removing things because someone on twitter got upset over something innocuous.

Wait, did the community believe that video on Twitter?

This is from the same company that, in Hearthstone, turned the Succubus into a Felstalker, covered Jaina’s cleavage, and censored multiple other cards.

This is the same company that, in WoW, turned in-game wallpapers of women into fruit, and removed half of the flirts and jokes that the players could share with each other.

This is the same company that censored Alexstrasza’s entire appearance when she was brought over to HotS.

This isn’t their first rodeo. And that’s just the sexy stuff they censored. Even before the whole McCree situation, they were censoring his character as well. Remember the noose spray? Mhm. The list goes on.

Given the company’s past history and recent hubbub about their internal culture this was required damage-control. Additionally, they also had to conform to China’s censorship standards as well as ratings standards across multiple markets.

These changes, though not the WoW ones, were done before the story broke out.

Blizzard has always had different visuals for their Chinese versions. The undead in WoW have always been censored in China, for example. But that censorship never reached the rest of the game.

The majority of the Hearthstone art that was censored was originally released with the game, and wasn’t changed until years later. They had no issue with “rating standards across multiple markets”, as the uncensored versions were already in all of said markets.

The only censorship that came out before their controversy hit, and wasn’t changed up to years after a game’s release, was Alexstrasza in HotS. And so, she would be the only example that could potentially fit your bill.

Its still all speculation and the video never discloses that.

Then on top this is more about marketing

Okay so please show me them saying they did it because it was to risky i literally talk to people who work for blizzard and i was told it was just for the shop and nothing else because i think mercy is sexier in the art them ash but thats me

I have talked with people on discord who works for blizzard and your is just speculation ill believe a person i know and trust then a youtuber or blogger trying to get clicks

Everything in the video can be proven wrong simply by using the amazing power of the human eye. Here’s what I just posted on that vid…

Look closely at the mug on Mercy’s platter. The foam in the mug lies at the very bottom of the cropped menu image. In the original artwork, Ashe’s thigh gap actually sits lower than the foam, thus her thigh gap would never have been visible in the cropped image anyway.

Ashe was more likely removed because Blizzard didn’t want her stealing the thunder from Mercy, since Mercy was getting a shop skin. This is a greedy, FOMO loving corporation. It only makes sense that the actual correct answer is money. :joy:

No. I cited many examples of Blizzard censoring their games in the past, and showed the pattern of their actions. There is ample evidence of Blizzard doing this before, and so it’s entirely plausible that they would do it again. That holds significantly more weight than your argument of, “I swear I talked to Blizzard directly and they told me this”. Lol, please.

I doubt ashe was removed because of some thigh gap, but considering this isnt the first time blizzard has done something like this IE: tracer’s pin-up pose and removing her butt entirely, it wouldnt surprise me.
