My two cents right here: I’m going to NOT be surprised by the content they are going to put out, because the last time that happened, Diablo Immortal happened.
*Edit I – I saw two threads (requesting links) saying something along the lines of “Overwatch becoming F2P”. Which will only bring in more children, along with a side effect of obtaining more skins… with someones credit card…
And you all know how that went down. It was a significant crap show.
If I were you, dearest forum user, I would not hold my breath or count my buttons upon this big surprise because it may only look like another cash grab made by Activision.
Remember the first Overwatch Anniversary they made? With that big button that said “Purchase lootboxes”? I sure as heck do. It was a bit disappointing. Not only that, but they put a time gate up for certain skins and emotes. Luckily, the forum spoke out and they removed that.
This isn’t to speak-out to “stop playing the game”. This is just a forewarning. There is an average chance you won’t be surprised, rather upset about it.

The only situation I see it being bad is if it is a balance change, which I doubt it is based on the context.
They’re not making a mobile OW, for a multitude of reasons. Worst case it’s another exclusive skin/emote.
I wasn’t so its all good.
Remember how much Jeff hyped endorsements? Yeeeeaaaaah.

Could be the last social feature they said they’re working on, the one that was supposed to come before the end of 2018.

I believe he said “cool little surprise” in the thread you’re talking about. I’m sure it’s just some nice quality-of-life feature or something small that will improve the game. Best not to get super hyped, though, without big expectations.

It could be replay system too. But that’s very unlikely.

Little. As in small. As in not big.
