thats a low viewer number considering they want to a grow in the viewer stats lol
yiu can see it easily how many people only farm tokens
when seagull streams. he has like 3000- maybe 5000 viewers normally…
when the dva spray challenges was up and people needed to watch for sprays, he got 20k viewers… so over 50% were watching for the sprays and not because of him… let that sink lol.
there are maybe 40.000 people actually watching because of the game and not the tokens. and thats a very optimistic view.
It’s not even that. When the league started it only had about 90k viewers also. Not much has changed there. It’s actually rose after the viewer count took a dip a while back
i think epic games is very smart and i dont mind them to destroy steam… valve got very lazy… they dont controll what rubbish games are being sold on their platform nor do they offer great sales anymore. everyday the steamclient has to do stupid updates and half of the day its having issues with servers. besides that its a cesspool for racist and sexist people, they dont care if people take racist as a profile picture or post racist symbols on the comment box.
i report people daily and get everyday msg that action has been taken but the people dont care they still stick to that behavior.
valve is still thinking everyone is hyped for csgo and as a publisher all other games have failed by now…
epic games on the other hand had proper anticheat very fast, does great sales and cares about the quality of games that they offer… they don’t rip off the developers like steam does. if you release your games on epic store you don’t have to pay that much fee to epic unlike valve ripping of everyone… especially indie developers are suffering from this.
if epic games would have been in charge of overwatch we would have seen content many months ago… while blizzard just put everything into the league and starved the game, ignores issues of ranked.
OWL is nice to have but it does not matter when the games you see there are so far away from that rubbish you experience when you actually play the game.
tanks in OWL… while you maybe have main tanks who also still play main tank in ranked… every 1 out of 10 games. then they keep nerfing tanks and make them even worse to play by adding more stuns and burst damage so even less people want to play it on ranked…
i don’t mind OWL to fail for all their ignorance regarding ranked… all my friends left because how bad ranked experience actually is and nothing changed.
I have multiple tabs open AFKing for my multiple accounts. Look how many people are still AFKing during offline hours. 50K. How many people respond to chat messages? Very few.
(Not that I think it’s a dead game just that GOATs OWL is not as popular as you think.)
The games take too long. Who wants to sit through all that? And who loves OW that much that they would actually clear their schedule to watch this stuff live? I don’t understand it. I may watch a round or two here and there but for the most part I idle for the coins because frankly I don’t care nearly enough about pro players or the scene. When I hear people ask openly in team chat if anyone saw the play that such and such player made in whatever match was happening at the time, I’m just thinking ffs get a life.
What i always wonder is, why are there so many usere in a forum for a dead game, saying its dead and keep on being here and saying its dead instead of moving on.
But hey what can you do.
Better call every game without 500k views a dead game, shoud work fine…
Dont try to change the mind of those being active in a forum of a game they claim to be dead.

i dont think so… ive seen many people over and over in my games… sometimes you get the same people several times in a row even on low elo… the playerbase is not that huge anymore. and when i look at streamers… there are not many good ones left anymore or big ones… many many have left the game.
I mean, you don’t usually have to watch (although sometimes the main ad window contains footage so, well, sometimes you do)…
But, anyway for all that you’re making fun of it… Yes, they do force you to open the Battle.net launcher to play any of their games so that you have to see the list of games on offer and the ads for them. It’s very deliberate, aggressive product-pushing. And then there’s an Overwatch League sub-menu in the game, along with notices when OWL is live, OWL skins and sprays in your matches…
I mean, they don’t actually make you watch it much, just a few seconds once in awhile when they put live footage in the launcher, but they certainly make sure that information about and advertisements for it are under your nose as much as possible.
Comparatively, basically any game you might own on Steam can be launched directly from the desktop, frequently played games can be launched with a right-click on the taskbar… and once in the game, basically only the free-to-play titles push internal advertising at you, with a few exceptions which also deserve criticism. And yeah, Steam is pretty aggressive with its own advertising when you do open the client window, but at you have other ways to launch games if you don’t want to see that.
It takes sooo long to start a comp game. Game is dead, deal with it
It takes at least 5mins even on a diamond acc to start a game.
Atm counter says 3:59 and it keeps increasing what da heck I just want to play and have fun
Queue times are a good indicator, and its pretty clear the game doesn’t have much players in Asia/OCE as my queue times reach 2-5 mins for Quickplay. While other games I get a game almost immediately.
Oh yeah, the player count has definitely dropped, but it isn’t due to streamers leaving. It’s due to no new content and stale metas….plus, the game is never going to have the player count it did in 2016 when it was hyped up big time as a newer release.
I think they can regain a lot of their lost players though, if they spice it up a bit and add more PvE content, but I won’t hold my breath on that.
