It can be anything you like! Even a charity event or a mini event (like D.Va one)!

I actually had this idea seeing the trailer for the event this year!
Something like Hide n Seek from the Slasher specifically, since throughout the teaser you seem to be running from Slasher 76. He’s gotta find you and hit you with his axe within the allotted time to win, and true to the horror/slasher genre, fighting back is useless!! Hide or Die
So you would have a place you need to reach and you would encounter slashers chasing you all the way up. That sounds awesome!

An event around showing off the unique and varied ways people celebrate around the world with characters donning skins themed around it.
While the event wouldn’t have a unique gamemode, Arcade would let the player select which map they would like to play which change daily. By playing characters on their home-turf, special sprays and items can be unlocked.
The community would also receive “Global Challenges” which tasks every player to work towards a common goal (Such as Healing or Blocking Damage) to get everyone special items once the event is over.
Really this is my way of getting Non-Japanese, American or Chinese holidays some love! Like Bonfire Night or La Tomatina!
Prison breake.
A team of 6 Doomfists has to escape a prison guarded by 6 Orisas, nether of them can inflict any damage to each other.
Each DF can be locked in an empty cell, when atleast 5 of them being locked Orisas team wins, if atleast 5 DF manage to escape it’s a win for them.
Oh wow that is simply amazing. It’s not just a team working for a goal but a whole Overwatch community! That’s so amazing!
