I don’t. I just pick Dva, and I never switch. Dva is the only tank for me.
Juno might as well be a defenseless rabbit vs Sombra, but Kiri is a fox with dangerous fangs. It’s a survival thing. I don’t swap to Kiri when the Sombra gets all up in my business so I can chase after her. I swap to Kiri so that the Sombra can’t just roll me with impunity like she can with Juno. In the case of Dva vs Zarya, neither are defenseless rabbits agaisnt each other.
If you still don’t get it, then cringe. Oh, and im assuming good Sombras here. Obviously, I could fight off trash Sombras with Juno, but in most cases running away would be my only option, otherwise im deadzo.
Then don’t complain when they break out the beams. That’s a personal problem, and one you should try and get over. Would you like some logs to build a bridge?
Just mocking you for desperation counter switching is not complaining. It’s simply mockery. The only complaints in this thread are from cringe counter switchers crying about being called cringe.
I never intended to counter anyone as Reinhardt. I did not “counterpick” you, I just rolled out as my main.
There are so many other heroes you could go instead that are not explicitly countered by Reinhardt. I do not even know who he strictly counters outside of Zarya to be perfectly honest and most Zarya players actually stay on their hero because they do not mind playing against Reinhardt, apparently? Or maybe Zarya players are just less cringe.
I wouldn’t either. I am not good enough to play against Sombra without a cleanse, I guess. If they want to say that is cringe, more power to them, but I feel that playing Sombra is even more cringe. I never get bothered when people counter my Sombra. I totally get it. That, to me, is the opposite of hypocrisy. The unwritten rules are the same for both parties.
I do not want an advantage. I just miss when half the people went Orisa instead of Rammatra and we are slowly but surely getting there once more! It’s a happy occasion, Flare sama. Variety is coming back to the game.
If you chose the hard route of not swapping that’s fine. But sitting there and shaming people for being flexible just goes to show you were never going to be good at your favorite hero. Countering is very normal and has existed forever. And stubborn one tricks who want to master their hero has also been normal. That’s always been true. No reason to be angry that some players flex and some master. That’s just Overwatch.
They just don’t get it. They want fun for themselves, by countering other people with their pick, but if you swap to counter them, it’s cringe, bad, etc.
Has the community really become this far gone, that they can’t find anything other to complain about, other than one of the core concepts of the game mechanics? I feel like my brain just short circuits every time I see the countering is bad argument.
It’s beyond a core mechanic. It was one of the main draws of Overwatch in the first place. Because being locked into a character is very normal for a MOBA environment. So when Overwatch came out the idea of swapping on the fly was a massive draw for the game. It’s a big part as to why it did so well.
That was not supposed to be some sort of secret. I readily admit that I will never be great at Reinhardt. He is the opposite of everything I am good at.
I take issue with this phrasing. Counterswapping a Reinhardt is not flexing. I actually win so many of these because it is NOT flexibility. Their team needs them on a specific type of tank or, I guess they need their team on a whole different composition, whatever… And they refuse because Rammatra is the best character to play into Reinhardt.
That is why it is cringe. There are other Reinhardt counters that can easily adapt to the circumstances. But they pick Rammatra. They are no different than I am. They are basically a one trick in that match up and even their Bastion/Reaper are not enough to help them which is pathetic. It’s not even cringe at that point. It’s just embarrassing.
So yes, I get to make fun of them. They can make fun of me if it makes them feel any better. But deep down, we both know that ain’t happening without some extreme psychological conditioning.
I personally don’t care to counter swap much. I will if it’s clearly not working but I will be stubborn and prefer the satisfaction of outplaying the counter. But that’s a me choice. I’m choosing to not swap and have the advantage so I can’t be angry if others use the feature as it’s meant to be.
So do I, but when they have the advantage in match ups, how is that fun for me? I can’t play my hero, because you chose _____. Once again, hypocrisy rears it’s ugly head.
Why can others counter with their pick, but if I swap to even equal the odds, out come the manchildren having tantrums?
Even when I don’t swap and end up owning them as say Hanzo… The complaints shift from being countered to “Games all RNG and Luck.”
People just complain about anything that stops them.
That’s flexing. The ability to perform with other heroes and be capable of swapping at a moments notice. Sure that skill is easier since role queue. Because flexing used to mean between roles. But since role queue it’s being flexible within your role. Knowing counters is also game sense. And sometimes is also map knowledge. You’re welcome to one trick rein. But nobody has to respect that and play along with your honor.
The entire purpose of counterpicking is to have an advantage. If you are only creating an equal chance at a win, it might have been more intelligent to just learn your hero better…
