Cool story about Workshop mode stealing 🙂

I just want to tell cool story about be kind for authors of modes

Someday i played piano mode i created. In lobby joined guy and started to say that HE created this mode, and all players just said that he lie and he didn’t this mode.

When he was ashamed, he gone and created own lobby with name “Piano”, deleted all my description with Author’s Mark and started to say in this lobby that he developer of this mode.

I just decided to join and made sure that it’s my mode i developed ealier.

I even have actual code of this mode and earlier i did video about it.

I just joined and said that it is my mode and he stolen it from me and changed description. He answered me:

Translation:

"I didn’t steal this mode
I just got it from Internet" (с)

So i decided to ask this player why he do this, because this is not right:

" - And why you do this, despite the fact that you are not author of this mode?

As joke i said that i did screenshots and will send it to Overwatch Forum to ban him, and then he just deleted lobby so fast as he could

Maybe it was just a young schoolboy which lacked a little attention We never find out it.

hey, I saw such ppl but with my mods they do not really can say something because before to publish I show them to my friends and add to my topic on this forum. However yes, they exist and there is nothing to do with it… even cannot block them to enter. I am not against copying a code… I do want it happen so my work will not be lost in a time. Hope Blizzard is looking for a solution for such cases.

I don't like how people can copy my game with a click of a button

I’ve spent the recent 8 hours making an original and addicting workshop game, it’s great and many people said they loved playing it! However, the next day I decided to join some lobbies and I met very not nice people who saved my game preset and claimed they made it themselves, now everybody in the lobby is cheering up for them for the non-existent efforts they put into making (my) gamemode… The worst thing is I can’t do anything about people copying my game, it’s really frustrating and I feel …

I dont believe that Blizzard going to do at all something with that.

That sucks… so much omg.
You spent many many hours on that mode and that guy just changes the desc to make it seem like he made the mode. So disrespectful wtf. They need to give credit to people who made their game

yea, i feel you, imo workshop modes should have options where you can choose whether or not the mode is:

• Locked: players are allowed to join your lobby and play your gamemode but they wont be allowed to save or edit it

• Shareable: players can save it but not edit the code, the OC name will be in the description of the gamemode

• Editable: players can access the code and modify it.

I think that, if done properly will prevent a lot of stealing and would make things much better
