Connected to distant server, ping latency spikes

After the recent patch, I keep getting connected to LA servers, instead of the usual Chicago ones. I live in Boston, MA.
This, along with the fact that for some reason they are extremely unstable, produces enormous lag spikes and renders the game virtually unplayable.

Trace complete.

I deduce that this is an error on Blizz side, since the problem is at the last stages of the trace.

Hi there, I’m a volunteer/fellow player, and I don’t work at Blizzard. Please include a WinMTR to both the Chicago server and the LA server if you’d like members of the community to help you troubleshoot.
