I quite like it. I didn’t think I would - I think any name change is just naturally unfamiliar, and unfamiliarity will likely breed dissatisfaction.
But, I like it. I think it still has context behind it. I will likely call him Cowboy in-match since my call-outs are easily identifiable traits to say. And I like the implication it can have in the lore of him ditching his fake name and being him - truly.

sounds like a salad dressing but hey its a name i never would have come up with. i would have named him after a real outlaw like johnny ringo but that would probably create problems with peeps too

What about all the interactions between 32 characters that have to be changed and/or re recorded? No one is talking about it
Pretty sure all of them that directly referred to him as Jesse or McCree were removed entirely from the game with the Halloween patch.
