Cliff terios on support

I feel the same ,The game is definitely asking for more skillful play out supports. People just don’t want to give the effort.

I vaguely remember this name but it has been so long.

I think it’s more like they don’t know how to and are getting super frustrating at the sudden change. Essentially, supports are being asked to do more while DPS are the same and tanks have to do way less.

So… tanks are more liberating, dps are functionally the same but now get to play for ‘free’ relatively speaking, and supports have to learn to play the game differently if they weren’t already hard playing corners and taking duels.

So basically skill issue

Maybe. I’d say it’s more a playstyle difference. Because it was already present in OW1 and higher level supports already relied on themselves quite a bit. It just makes it even more obvious in more levels if not all levels of the game now.

Well this could be true, but currently for this beta, the support role is not filling up with dps players either Currently its not something most people in beta want to play.

This might change in later betas.

He couldn’t be further from the truth. The support mechanics haven’t been compensated to deal with a game who’s flow is significantly geared towards fragging out and less objective presence

Yea he’s right, it’s mostly because support plays completely different so people aren’t really used to it.

Correct. They are the only role save Ana and Brig that have not been altered for the new playstyle in OW2. Its the same reason Winston and Rein will be trash to play until they give them something substantial as well.

Most DPS players WANT supports to be weak so they are pretending like they are fine so they wont be given the buffs they need. Time will tell though once a large enough pool of players stop queuing for the role and it becomes the new bottleneck.

The person in the video is a support player.

Or it’s because we genuinely do not know if support is weak or not because comp isn’t out yet, and people haven’t adjusted to how 5v5 plays.

Wow it’s almost like I called this weeks ago…

Anyone who understands this game knows all it will take is a few weeks for players to learn proper positioning on these new maps and with 1 less tank and support will be on top again.

If nothing else, remember this

In a blowout match, one team’s supports are getting farmed.

BUT

The others are hard carrying

Universal support NERFS are coming!

There’s still “too much sustain” ruining the “shooter-fest-bonanza” the devs are seeking to create.

Can it be called skill if one side has it 10 times easier than before? (DPS)

So healers are killable again. Better whine to the skies.

Well so far, healers that can consistently regain health mid-combat are a lot stronger.

Let’s not shoot ourselves in the foot by making Supports the new Tank queue times bottleneck.

Would kinda suck to move from 6v6 to 5v5 to fix queue times, only to not fix queue times.

Healers can cope with the main tank experience for awhile.

Yet it became marginally easier for Tanks and DPS players… hence the queue gap.

Not sure what’s so hard about this to understand. If a role isn’t fun, people will go play the fun roles.

If queue times suck whenever Overwatch 2 PVP goes fully live, then that’s going to be a huge missed opportunity.

People aren’t going to just play other roles, they just aren’t going to play Overwatch 2.
