Just realised on first fight, the enemy tank can die, swap to counter and get back to recontest and flip the point. The tank that was originally winning has no way to get back fast enough to recontest on his side because the capture completes faster for the enemy side because they dont have to wait the unlock time
Clash promotes winning the first point and then snowballing. It was the same with 2CP, but Clash is 2CP without breaks, so its faster. Still feels like an arcade mode than a real mode. The games dont begin if that makes sense. You are constantly in the “early game” and then its over.
People counterswap too much honestly.
They’ll watch a streamer or some tiktoks and start thinking “oh they have DVA, we HAVE to go Zarya” without considering any other factors.
To be fair, that usually is the right move. Yes, maybe if you’re 20% away from Ult you can hold out, but more often than not at least with D.Va, you want to shut her down quickly. Her team wipe ult can completely flip a match.
I realise reading must be very hard for you so what i say must be difficult for you to understand but ive told you several times that i am a tank player.
My comment was a joke in response to the OP about once specifc mode.
I hope that was clear enough for you to understand.
Not saying counterswapping is bad, i do it all the time. It’s just too many people think of it as a hard rule and usually only consider single factors. like tank for tank without considering the rest of the team comp. Thats my only point here.
If the enemy tank swaps to counter they actually have the advantage either way.
Your tank either stays on their pick in order to keep ult but they are now running into their hardcounter so chances are their ult gets no value anyway or they swap and now the enemy tank is ahead in ult charge
For instance just finished a clash game where my tank went winston, the enemy went zarya, the zarya got immediately bodied and swapped to mauga. While that was all happening we couldnt cap the point because it was still locked.
By the time we started capping, the enemy tank now on mauga had already came back and then obviously just deleted our winston. Our team then couldnt respawn and get back fast enough to recontest that first point so it was an immediate loss and we were punished because we won that first initial fight
Now my winston had a choice stick on winston into mauga and feed or swap and get behind in ult. either way we went into 2nd point with the disadvantage and lost that one too.
This all reminds me of a couple of my games last night.
Started on Hog. They had DVa. After getting wiped, went Zarya. Once our team found their cohesive rhythm (this takes time sometimes) went to melting the DVa out of her mech repeatedly. They then swapped to Hog. I then swapped to DVa… lol
We ended up losing the match, but at least for me, the tanks were doing their job. We just got outplayed.
Another clash map, I started on Hog and was against Orisa. Their team steamrolled ours so hard the first fight I immediately swapped to Orisa to match.
We ended up winning, despite them swapping to DVa to try to counter. I stayed on Orisa, because it was working.
But the worst thing about Clash?
Lucio and Juno. If you aren’t running a lot of speed in Clash, you will be overrun most of the time. Both teams that match were running the same healers. lol And both were running Reaper. Kinda hilarious.
My mistake! We had Juno and Ana and no Reaper on our side!
Yes but no other mode snowballs as fast as clash does. Losing 1st more often than not also means losing 2nd whereas losing first on kings road doesnt equal losing 2nd because the map is better paced to allow a recontest
Not exactly, you know have ult economy. And simply focusing on killing their team over dueling tank will let you carry that advantage forward regardless of what their playing.
TLDR shoot something other then the tank, or maybe use one of the flanks or bits of highground to force fights into places that tank doesn’t like to be.
