Tbf I’ve seen a lot less obvious cheaters since S9…but that’s because it’s brainlessly easy to hit your shots now to an extent that any non tank will die in 0.1 s flat when breathed on. (heck, even those clips of spinbotting cheats seem to have died down since then)
Before S9, I saw a cheater every other game. F2P really did aid in ruining the game lol
I’m going to be real about this, people underestimate the amount of cheaters that exist in a game!
BTW cheating isn’t just ‘lock to head, auto headshot, track through wall’, hope this helps!
There’s cheats such as trigger-bot where your gun will automatically shoots when a character touches the crosair, there’s also soft aimlock that will give you higher percentage and ‘helping’ you lock to enemies. Might not be obvious because ‘ooh it’s bodyshots, can’t be cheating :3 right?’
Or they can remove chat with the enemy team so they wouldn’t have to waste as much time dealing with toxic player reports so they can focus on dealing with cheaters.
The Hanzo, tracer, and Kiri all Japanese names had wall hacks. No flick shots like you normally see off regular players and they for some reason had perfect corner coverage. Even though the hanco missed every sonic arrow.
For context, normal player behavior shows constant aim adjustment. So you should see the crosshairs for a player shift to align shots. If someone is “too precise” meaning they are very lazy about adjustment it does not mean they have smooth gameplay.
It means they can already see you.
For example. In the same way a Hanzo or a Widow can steady their aim in a fixed position when they can see via Sonic Arrow or Widow’s Visor. That’s how you can aee the subtle habits in a cheater’s playstyle.
If you ever watched pros or streamers play even they themselves are flick shooting or adjusting their aim quite a lot. They aren’t hacking.
Your basic hand eye coordination will follow a target. Like a cat to a lazer pointer. It won’t be precise because the cat doesn’t know where the lazer will move so natutally it will chase it.
If a player isn’t doing this same behavior, then they aren’t playing fairly.
Yes there’s many cheaters on this game and I honestly think the amount of cheaters vary depending on which region you play in. I have played in several regions over the past 6 months and there’s noticeable difference.
Don’t worry they are targeting these guys now. Perma bans have been already and currently delivered to players for using a XIM n most of the time that XIM has the hacks on it. Plus season 11 makes it worse for them. As soon as it detects a device itle ban u for a week and then u get pinned against PC users which is hilarious. Iv told so many Xbox XIM users I’d live to see them face PC n get shoved back into silver. My dream is coming true!!! Ty blizzz
They are not a shill just cause they have different experience, many can’t detect cheats unless it’s blatant, also varies with region timing and modes.
That said cheating is going to rise a lot due to aim explosion in the next few months there are cheats that literally work of seperate hardware interms of wall hacks and stuff these literally can’t be detected, only identified.
Anticheat doesn’t work because they find new ways to bypass it after seeing those crazy dma cheat with custom firmware and this only one of the many methods. They would have to go after the cheat makers to stop them.
Because you have little to no clue how to aim and how it works so that’s why you can’t tell when someone is aim-assisting or aimbotting. You’re probably a moth mercy player who held the beam mindlessly not bothering about aiming for all these 8 years. Not a chance you will be able to tell when someone’s good and when is cheating. I personally met hundreds of cheaters for the past 6 years.
You’re probably one of those people from Jay3’s chat going ‘He’s not cheating, he’s just goooood!’…
There are so many different cheat softwares for this game, and they are all different, but the most expensive ones can be configured to be less sus than others due to how much these softwares have evolved.
I suggest you go to youtube and look up videos showing how they work. Prepare to have your mind blown…
Doesn’t matter. If it’s hard locking to the same point on a player model, it’s detectable. That kind of cheat is pretty easy to action and it’s crazy that isn’t a thing in OW.
They’re definitely a lot more prevalent than people realize. They’re everywhere. What’s rare is to see the cheaters that rage hack and instantly snap to targets. The really good cheats are subtle and hard to tell but they’re definitely out there. Jay3 doesn’t have a whole discord channel dedicated to replay codes to spectate cheaters for nothing.
Crossfire was a shooter game that ban cheaters daily, like in the middle of the match “oops cheat detected goodbye account” and then patch the cheat the next day type of anti cheat.
Do you know what happened to that game ? the cheatmaker update their cheatware the day after that, and then the devs patch it the next day after that, then the cheatmaker update the cheatware again.
eventually it reach a point where the game got anti-cheat patches like 3 times a week, and there are still 11 cheaters in every 5v5 match.
Insta-ban is not the way, this isnt an “Overwatch problem”, and it’s not a problem that Overwatch could solve.
A review system like “Counterstrike Overwatch” is preeeetty neat for higher rank, like GM+ and top500. But it is worthless in dealing with cheats in the metal ranks
Some of these cheat softwares actually come with built in ult trackers with auto cancel if you’re playing heroes like Ana with aimbot for the sleep dart to boot.
It’s because of how much the cheat softwares have evolved that it’s harder to pick up on. I mean, you still have the super cheap/free stuff that’ll turn your char into a spinbot or just extremely obvious since there’s no real configuration options that comes along with them, but those expensive ones are far worse to deal with.
The expensive ones have so many settings it’s insane. You can mess around with the tracking, lock-on and so much more, making it look almost completely legit, hot-key certain features, such as lock-on mode to crouch etc. It’s far easier to see the expensive ones with OW2s replay system though, due to the fine grained speed controls, which is where i catch most of the ones i report, which i also get a thank you note from the day after.
