Cheaters everywhere

Can you please work on your anti cheat instead of banning people who say F*** or S***? Cheaters, hardlocking on people should get detected and banned mid game. Dont wait 6 months until they get banned within a banwave, if that even happens that often. Its pretty sad that you dont do anything about it. Even the “Counterstrike Overwatch” system is more effective than your anti cheat (Its a joke tbh). Work on it instead of finding excuses…

right there is a Shill… if it was not an issue they would not be posting about combating it.

I had a friend of mine that always said “Nobody cheats in games” and I go, um I have game servers. Its pretty obvious that people cheat. He would play Dead by daylight with me and go “oh they aren’t cheating!” , and I would be like “yeah, yeah they are!”

and come to find out they ban over 50,000+ cheaters in that game, right after he made that statement, and I absolutely gave him grief about it. He was TEPID that I was right.

Yeah, online games have lots of cheaters. it just depends upon how people perceive what “cheating” is or is not.

Some people are fully oblivious to it. Others know it. based upon what is “natural” gameplay and what is ‘not’.

First off I said

That is my experience, I only have seen a handfull.

Im not saying there are arnt cheater, I know they are, I personally just dont run across them for whatever reason, maybe they arnt common in my rank, or i dont pay to close attention, IDK.

Also I did say this

There have been many times where they might have been cheating or could just be good. Just cant say with certainty

But obvious snapping i havnt seen much off

Every game has cheaters. Every game has to try combating it. That is different than the people who think there is a cheater in like every second game. People just can’t handle others being better players.

except it has been statistically proven you will have at least 1 in 3 games minimum, but yes normally you don’t notice because things get turned down, and they are not rage hacking but you can tell, had a Lw snap to my tanks head behind a wall and the trigger bot kicked in was so fun to report them

Sure, go ahead and link me these stats that prove it.

30 seconds on google. many times it has been looked into and 37% of gamers ADMIT to cheating, so 10 people in a match there could be up to 3 cheating (not just aimbots but cheating) in that match

That article says 37% of some 9000 people. Doesn’t specify which games at all other than multiplayer. Obviously some games have more cheaters than others.

I thought you were going to have stats for overwatch, not a 6 year old article with some peoples answers apparently.

Second article is just straight up not believable.

“ * Seventy-seven percent of gamers thought it was perfectly acceptable to cheat.”

There is no way even majority of people thinking cheating in anything is acceptable.

“So what exactly did they have in mind when they spoke about cheating? Exploiting glitches in the game and looking up answers online were considered cheating by most respondents. Just a small 4% said it was unacceptable to look answers up online.”

Lol they count looking up answers to a problem as cheating.

But again, just the opinion of a thousand people. No actual data from games that prove people are cheating at a specific percentage.

Thats because you do not play comp and likely your MMR is low so the odds of you running into a cheater is slim due to you not being in their MMR range.

Thats because people are still stuck with the view on cheating like it was a decade ago, cheats today are made to look as organic as possible, if you spend couple hours looking into what cheats are out there you would learn rather quick cheats even miss X amount of shots intentionally not to stick out.

Cheats today is more like a aid to make u a bit more accurate, do the pulse bomb for you, Matrix that grav for you while looking 100% as if its player input.

Cheating is out of control in the FPS genre because there are no consequences to cheating.

that’s cool believe what you will, i just report and block them then move along, my 2-5 pop ups when i log in daily (i don’t report language or soft throws) make it very obvious that they are there, and there are a lot of them, every 2-3 matches you get the Rage bot with 40/20/0 normally on a hitscan and it says everything.

Unfortunately OW2 is a F2P game and EVERY single F2P game is filled with cheaters. Played a game of Fortnite yesterday and got killed by someone running under the map. GLHF.

Every other big FPS have massive problems with cheaters, but OW should be the exception
Why?

Guess we have completely different experiences in game.

Cheaters are everywhere in this game, they’re all using kernelmode cheats now and more or less just writing pointers to your aiming axis, so most client-based anti-cheat won’t help beyond obscurity, it has to be done from the server-side based on analytics. There’s no auto-ban on things like “locking onto targets” because there is likely no way to ensure zero false-positives occur, and the cheat developer is likely randomizing parts of the aim offsets to make it appear more realistic (not using rounded numbers for floating point values, no linear functions created from aim data, etc).

This is not an easy task to solve on such a large-scale game. It’s very easy to bash the developers, but if a cheater has emulated what appears to be normal behavior it becomes almost impossible to detect them. Toggling on/off every other game also makes it even more difficult to pinpoint.

There is a huge difference from being good and cheating. When a content creator has a whole series of cheater videos from GM rank that should tell you something.
