You have to pay to change it more than once.

To be more specific only the first time is free, after that, each time is a separate $10 USD

It’s probably for the better

Loads of other companies allow you to change it every month or so - it’s just a cashgrab because Blizzard wants more and more money.

Try to get 10 thousand replies so that Blizzard become less of a BlizzEArd.

The first time is free? I definitely had to pay to change it the first time. This was like. Three weeks ago, too??

I have an account on console, but I didn’t think that made a difference?

It’s free firstime on pc, but not for console

Maybe I’ll contact support then bc I never changed it on console.

Your name on Xbox and PlayStation cost money even if it’s your first time. It’s only on pc the first is free

Thats honestly a scam

Steam lets anyone and everyone change their name whenever they want.

its only a scam and everyone knows it to be a scam but yet blizzard doesnt care.

You clearly don’t know what the definition of a scam is.

can do it for free
chooses not to
Sounds like a scam tbh.
Just because you get the desired result with your purchase does not change whether or not there is an ethical dilemma created.

It is highly unethical and due to the fact that people are copying blizzard’s anti consumer practices, removing content cus “event is over”, makes this a very scary ordeal. Rainbow Six Siege is the first game besides blizzard to remove a good chunk of optimized content and lock content behind events. and it worked well for them.

So do me a favor and do not argue semantics when there is a very clear problem being addressed.

Definition of scam
: a fraudulent or deceptive act or operation

They make it very clear that your first time to change your name is free. Each time after that cost $10.

There is nothing deceptive or fraudulent about that. It’s a crystal clear service they allow and charge for.

If you honestly think it’s a scam then please by all means report it to your local authorities and see how far that goes.

WHAT!? LOL. You do realize that you don’t even own the account right?

HOLY C O W, YOU’RE DEFENDING ANTI CONSUMER PRACTICES

changes comment to defend anti-consumer practices even more

wow :ok_hand:

You should also contact them and tell them they are wrong. Tell them your personal definition of what a scam is.

ok?

I accepted my comment of scam to be used in the wrong definition.

And if you had the audacity to just read my post with some effort for more than a microsecond, you’d realize that I bring the point onward and past the argument of being whether or not it fits the definition of scam.

I dont know why you’re holding the conversation on “thats not what the definition of Scam”.
For me, it sounds like you’re defending the anti-consumer behavior of this company by trying to show me how much of an uphill battle it is to discourage any and everyone from attempting such a war.

Because I’m sick of tired of people accusing Blizzard of doing things they are not. Scams are ILLEGAL and what Blizzard is doing is now where close to being illegal. Blizzard has lawyers that are leaps and bounds in education over you and I and I know they put every service under a microscope before making it live to make sure they aren’t breaking any laws.

What you did was in fact slander which is the action of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person’s reputation, this case a companies.

Also anti-consumer
: is a sociopolitical ideology that is opposed to consumerism, the continual buying and consuming of material possessions. Anti-consumerism is concerned with the private actions of business corporations in pursuit of financial and economic goals at the expense of the public welfare, especially in matters of environmental protection, social stratification, and ethics in the governing of a society.

So a private company want to make money. OH they are anti-consumer! :man_facepalming:

Even if they made it just 5$ it would be much better. They know that people who really wanna change their name would be willing to pay 10$ to do so.
