Changing battletag for twice

but they are selling name changes when its completely allowable on both steam AND Uplay to change your name for FREE.

Dunno about the Epic games launcher and I dont care to find out.

get off the topic of scams.

This is the third time im going to say this so you can stop.

I know I used “scam” wrongly

Stop talking about it.
Literally stop talking about it.

well let me argue it like this.
Apple removes every port on their phone except for a dongle port.
What happens next is they sell dongles individually and gives you one for charging when u buy the phone.

At this point, you’ll have to pay 30-50 dollars per dongle to do whatever you want with your phone.
Headphone jack, SD slot, maybe something else. At a minimum this’ll be 90 bucks. 150 at most for just dongles.

And this is excluding the fact that these dongles and charging cords are poorly made.

And this is also excluding that the products themselves are poorly made and apple has been sued almost yearly for terrible products.

So the phone itself would cost around 1k, the dongles themselves plus possible cord failure would be around 200 or so dollars due to the fact that apple products have an intense level of brand inflation because people automatically think they’re better and care to give them money.

Lets look at what happens when consumers use their brains and dont buy anything immediately cus Apple.

“what a terrible phone, no headphone jack, its even got that dumb notch AND its 1k when I can buy a google phone that does the same stuff for near quality for cheaper.”

Apple then changes how they operate and stop trying to be anti-consumer because its driving away the consumers.

Except people like you. Who defend such companies. Say “you’re using ur phone wrong, thats why its losing reception. You gotta buy that phone case that helps with reception.”

"YOU WERE TOLD there was a warranty/court issued repair/replacement for these products, not my fault you didnt hear about them even though no one talks about them. "

The thing about this is, you’d agree with these people.

“ten dollars to do something where it’s free to do anywhere else and causes no harm what so ever.”

“Let them remove content from the game that they put in one year’s work into.”

The reason why im adamant against it is because other companies are gonna follow suit and do the same stuff when I could previously do such things for free.

Thats why we have loot boxes in this game.
Thats why DLC costs a lot and is a thing.
and the sad part about this, you brought it up earlier. “you dont own your account.”

This is purely because blizzard doesnt want you making money off of their game by selling your account after you get bored of their games. Thats someone else that desired the content in their games that they could use predatory marketing efforts (lootboxes) on to get money out from their wallet into theirs. Thats why they prohibit such a thing occurring due to the fact THEY can get money out of it and dont want you getting any of that money.

Your btag is jojo reference, so why change?

So because these companies do it for free somehow makes it “anti-consumer” for Blizzard? Each company is free to do business however they wish to do it.

Ya know what? You don’t like it then just don’t do business with that company. I use to like Samsung phones till they started loading them up with bloatware and making them harder and harder to root. I stopped buying their devices. End of that.

You’re more than free to voice your opinion like “I think charging $10 is wrong but it’s what they do so oh well”. That’s fine. If you really hate it then don’t do business with the company. I use to have Apple devices till it sunk into my head that you never really own the device and are free to use it as you want. I don’t like their walled garden. I also stopped doing business with them.

if steam did this, I’d say the same stuff as im saying now. Its pretty dumb and simply manipulative for them to do this.

you cant do that with an Iphone either due to their OS.

Ye, I’ve said to myself, im not going to buy another Blizzard product except maybe from the merchandise store due to the fact that Overwatch has became a pretty bad game with slow to little updates which’s is slow and little due to quality control. however, the quality control is never really there.

Thats why I’ve already said to myself and to others that im not going to buy another blizzard product. Overwatch is going to be my one and only blizzard game.

At this point, I’m just ragging on them and being strong against the decisions they make because I dont want game companies like nintendo and Sony forcing game devs to do similar and costly practices that will hurt my wallet even more when its for the same amount of content prior to these changes.

Weather or not it fits websters or googles exact definition is nonsense.

$10 on a name change IS a joke when it’s free elsewhere in the same capacity.

also, i just remembered something you said.

That you dont own the phone you buy.

What would happen if car companies acted like game companies do.

“Oh u said a racial slur, give us that car back. No you’re not getting your money back.”

People would be livid.

Apples and oranges.

Once you take the car you’re no longer in a community with other people within that cat manufacture. Just because someone owns a Ford and says racial slurs doesn’t mean it reflects bad on Ford and other Ford owners. If you’re connected to Blizzard’s servers and you’re saying those things then Blizzard will deny you access to their servers.

Yes, you’re right that it doesnt reflect bad on ford.

however. With outrage culture. Nothing is off the table. They’ll ask for the impossible and try to make it possible. Even though they dont buy ford cars.

I’d rather keep it this way, I do not want trolls and smurfs changing their name up each match to avoid becoming recognized by the community

last time i checkedd…steam was the only people that allowed you to change your name for free…psn, xbox i believe have you pay to change it after changing it once

i mean, according to your logic, the us government is scamming us because its costs 100+ dollars to legally change your name

I said Uplay as well.

which it does.

Uplay and Steam are the biggest online PC platforms

You already get nickel and dime’d on console for “online play” even though the internet bill is already a separate bill. So technically you’re being billed twice for the same thing. :ok_hand:

but this is more of a console war conversation.

lol no, because thats physical paper work people have to do. And then you have to get issued another SS card with the correct name on it. new ID, New birth certificate (maybe), and probably some documents saying this is ur new name and that was ur old name.

There’s not that much digital paperwork in the government in comparison to its physical paperwork.

Same with trying to get a misdemeanor crime taken off your report. It takes forever and a lot of money because of the hundreds of documents they have physically and online about the same issue.

I haven’t changed my nick in 21 years. Never payed Blizz. The $10 is not because they want $10, it’s because they don’t want to deal with stupid names and stunts.

Well why can’t I change my name to Nerf_Brigitte?!? And then be able to change it back a month later?

It’s pretty obvious they want the money, they have a reporting system that’s too effective so you can easily report someone who has an “inappropriate name”.

To play devils advocate - Look how easy it is to impersonate someone on steam.

Bear in mind most of Blizzard’s rules would have formed around WoW.

tries to impersonate on steam
forgets that name change logs are on steam even if profiles are privated
forgets that it puts a giant 2 next to your name on whoever’s friendslist they’re trying to impersonate as
if you’re chatting with them, their name change becomes shown in chat

Also.

your name can be exactly someone elses without any discrepancy as to who they are on your friends list.

I have two people on my friends list named nyan.

There is nothing that sets them apart what so ever except their different profile pics and the fact that I have one on my favorites list.

so imo, blizzard ALLOWS for impersonation MORE THAN STEAM.
ANd steam has free name changes.

This is a stunt and they don’t to deal with it. $10 is an easy way to screen out stunts.

Who cares though? Oh great they’ve removed the ability to easily create jokey names - at the expense of people who want to change their name to something normal, because idk, they don’t use their previous username?

It’s a cash grab - BlizzEArd

You get a free name change, so it’s only at the expense of people who want to change their name at least twice. Pretty weak cash-grab.
