When he’s a hitscan that deals with both flankers and tanks, nah he’s gonna be in every game. The amount of opposing hitscans, Tracers, Sombras, Doomfists, and so on means that he’s just one of the best characters to slot on a team since he deals with the problematic characters so handily.

I’m always surprised by his ability to dole out 600 damage in the blink of an eye.
On top of that he’s got extra health too- because of course he does.

To be fair, his ability to deal damage over time is a bit lacking with only six shots. His mobility is also fairly lackluster, his hitbox is fairly large, and he has no self sustain.
McCrack has weaknesses, he’s just also both hitscan and deals with flankers while having access to a burst option for tanks. Given dive is the big thing right now, his ability to hit them both before and after they approach is significant.
No it’s not, he can roll to get ammo back. 6 shots is enough for him to kill 3 people (60%) on the enemy team, he needs 2 to kill squishies and shoots just over 2 shots per second. That paired with his roll reload means he absolutely is not lacking in damage.
Sombra and Moira show that “damage over time” doesn’t matter without context. Cass does plenty of damage, he is a BURST-DAMAGE character, he does high damage in bursts, he is not a sustained damage character who does a lot of damage over time, he is not Bastion.
He’s got some big bullets.
I mean yeah, if you have 100% headshot accuracy then nothing in the game matters at all, supports are practically useless at that point

In addition to being a dab hand against flankers as the Chief said earlier, Cassidy feels much better to play into Pharah compared to the likes of Torb. You are going to see a lot of Cassidys unless season eleven really shakes things up.

The game was fun when we kept Cowboy balanced, as in, very few players had the skill to play him, now every garbage player can pick him and do well, but every pro player can now steamroll every match. And no, don’t feel like mirror picking this busted garbage ‘hero’. Alec, please step down.

Play Reinhardt and you will wish it was Cassidy every game. Unless you prefer playing against Bastion and Pharah. Then… I guess maybe you would have more fun?
The problem with his design is that he has a good match up against virtually the entire cast.
He’s good against flankers, fliers, brawlers, and shreds tanks.
The only match up he really struggles with is long range hitscan.
That makes him an incredibly safe pick to get value from.
His ult is nowhere near as bad as some of the complainers would have you believe, and his roll enables him to survive almost anything.

You were correct up until his ult. His ult is maybe the worst of the damage class

Mcree is the fotm hitscan, they will rotate around, give each other the chance to dominate the game while the rest enjoy their little break.
